If we want to test a new rotation in Aion 2 Items without constantly killing normal mobs, Training Scarecrows are one of the most useful tools available. They give us a safe target for checking skill order, cooldowns, macros, burst windows, and general combat flow.

The good news is that we do not need to wait until endgame to use them.

Elyos players can reach Training Scarecrows at Dawn Legion Base in Verteron, while Asmodians can start at Safe Haven in Altgard.

There are also later training spots in Lacephin Village and Kromede's Island.

All Aion 2 Training Dummy Locations

The Global client currently has four main open-world areas where we can find Training Scarecrows. For most players, the first faction-specific location is the most convenient because it becomes useful early and avoids unnecessary travel.

FactionRegionTraining LocationRegularMelee
ElyosVerteronDawn Legion Base52
AsmodianAltgardSafe Haven52

The location data for the four areas and their Training Scarecrow spawn points is supported by current Aion 2 game-data references. The current Training Scarecrow database lists these four zones and their recorded spawn points.

From our experience, there is little reason to travel to a later region just to test a basic rotation. The early training area for your faction is usually enough for skill testing, especially while leveling.

AION 2 Training Scarecrow locations overview

An overview of the main Aion 2 Training Scarecrow locations for Elyos and Asmodian players.

Elyos Training Scarecrow Locations

Dawn Legion Base in Verteron

For Elyos characters, Dawn Legion Base is the location we would recommend first.

Once we reach the area, head toward the command structure and look around the open training area. The Verteron Monolith is a useful landmark if the scarecrows are not immediately visible.

The basic route is simple:

  • Open the Verteron map.
  • Travel to Dawn Legion Base in the Cantas Valley area.
  • Move toward the command center.
  • Check the training area around the structure.
  • Look north of the Verteron Monolith for the scarecrows.

This location has both regular and melee targets, so we can test more than just damage rotations. It is particularly convenient when leveling a new character because there is no need to hunt down normal enemies every time we want to check a skill combination.

Lacephin Village in Eltnen

Lacephin Village becomes a more convenient option once we are already progressing through Eltnen.

The training area is around the village's central facilities and travel points. We recommend using nearby landmarks rather than searching the entire village randomly. Look specifically for Training Scarecrow and Melee Training Scarecrow targets.

There are fewer reasons to return here from an earlier region, but it becomes handy for players who spend most of their time in Eltnen. Having a training area nearby also makes repeated testing less annoying when we are adjusting several parts of a build.

Asmodian Training Scarecrow Locations

Safe Haven in Altgard

Safe Haven is the Asmodian equivalent of Dawn Legion Base and is the location we would use first on an Asmodian character.

After fast traveling there, move toward the main command structure and check the raised platforms and stairs around the building. Some targets are not sitting directly at ground level, so checking only the center of the area can make them surprisingly easy to miss.

Our usual route is:

  • Open the Altgard map.
  • Fast travel to Safe Haven.
  • Head toward the main command structure.
  • Check both sides of the stairs and nearby platforms.
  • Target a Training Scarecrow and begin testing.

This is a particularly useful early-game training spot because the targets are designed for low-level characters. We can start practicing our rotation shortly after leaving the introductory progression instead of waiting until reaching a later zone.

Safe Haven provides an early Training Scarecrow area for Asmodian characters in Altgard.

Kromede's Island in Morheim

Kromede's Island provides another training area for Asmodian players who are already working through Morheim.

The training targets are located around the village area and its travel points. The Kromede's Island Kibelisk and Morheim Monolith are useful landmarks when navigating the area.

There are fewer scarecrows here than at Safe Haven, so we would not choose Kromede's Island specifically because it has a larger training area. Its main advantage is convenience: if we are already in Morheim, there is no reason to travel all the way back to Altgard just to test a new skill.

Training Scarecrow vs. Melee Scarecrow

Not every training target should be treated the same way.

We use the regular scarecrow mainly for offensive testing, while the melee version is more useful when a build depends on reacting to enemy attacks.

TargetWhat We Use It For
Training ScarecrowRotations, combos, cooldowns, macros, burst and sustained damage
Melee Training ScarecrowDodges, blocks, counters, defensive timing and reactive skills

For example, when testing a new DPS setup, a normal Training Scarecrow gives us a predictable target for repeating the same sequence several times. If we are testing a defensive ability, however, a passive target tells us very little.

That is where the Melee Training Scarecrow becomes more valuable. Its attacks give us something to react to, allowing us to practice defensive timing instead of simply watching damage numbers.

How We Test a Build on Training Dummies

We have found that the biggest mistake is changing too many things between tests. If we change equipment, Stigmas, skills, and the rotation at the same time, it becomes difficult to know what actually improved the build.

We prefer a simple process:

  • Start with no temporary buffs for a clean baseline.
  • Use the same opening skill every time.
  • Repeat the full rotation several times.
  • Test burst and sustained damage separately.
  • Watch MP or other class resources during longer tests.
  • Use Melee Scarecrows for defensive and reactive abilities.
  • Change one major part of the build at a time.
  • Repeat the test after changing Skills, Stigmas, Arcana, Manastones, or equipment.

This approach is especially helpful when learning a new class. Instead of stopping every few seconds because a normal enemy has died, we can repeat the same sequence until the skill order becomes natural.

We prefer a simple process: Start with no temporary buffs for a clean baseline, use the same opening skill every time, repeat the full rotation several times, and change one major part of the build at a time.

AION 2 player testing a combat build on a Training Scarecrow

Repeating the same rotation on a Training Scarecrow makes build testing more consistent.

Summary

For most players, the answer is simple: Elyos should start with Dawn Legion Base, while Asmodians should use Safe Haven.

These early locations provide enough targets for rotation practice, while Lacephin Village and Kromede's Island become convenient alternatives as we move into later regions.

Once we have a stable rotation, we can use the same scarecrow to compare equipment and build changes rather than relying on a single fight. This makes our testing much more consistent and helps us avoid wasting cheap Aion 2 Kinah or other resources on changes that do not actually improve the character.
