Global MapleStory Classic World is finally opening its doors, and Founder’s Access gives early players two weeks to establish characters, learn the new systems, and build a head start before the Grand Launch. Nexon’s release notes confirm a level cap of 100, four Explorer job families, five Victoria Island bosses, a returning party quest, three new progression features, and a packed schedule of launch events.
I have broken the announcement down from a player’s point of view: what you should prepare before logging in, which milestones matter first, where your early Mesos are likely to disappear, and which limited-time rewards are worth planning around.

How to Get Into MapleStory Classic World Founder’s Access
The first practical lesson in the notes is that “pre-download” works differently depending on your platform. On the Nexon Launcher, the standalone Classic World client does not appear until launch day. You can still save time by installing the launcher, signing in, and making sure your Nexon account is ready. When the servers open, find MapleStory in your library, switch to the Classic World option, and begin the client download.
Steam players can prepare more of the installation in advance. MapleStory and Classic World are bundled, so having the current base game fully installed and patched should substantially reduce the additional download required at launch. If you are racing friends or a guild to the first job advancement, this is the kind of simple preparation that prevents losing the opening hour to a large patch.

Founder’s Package rewards are delivered through the in-game mailbox. Claim them as soon as you have confirmed your main character rather than leaving valuable items in the mail. Nexon lists a November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC claim deadline, and several event consumables also have short expiration periods.
Controls, WASD Movement, and Controller Support
Classic World offers both Classic Style and Modern Style key bindings. The important difference for returning players is that Modern Style supports WASD movement. Veterans who rely on the old keyboard layout can keep the familiar setup, while newcomers can start with controls closer to a modern PC platformer.
Xbox and PlayStation controllers are officially supported, but controller recognition is disabled by default. Open Game Options and enable Controller Support before assuming your pad is not working. Other controller models may function, but Nexon does not guarantee them.

Your First Route: Maple Island to Victoria Island
Every character begins as a Beginner on Maple Island. Treat the opening area as more than a tutorial: it is your chance to test movement, assign keys, collect a few starter items, and decide whether the character’s name and appearance are worth keeping. Each account can create only three characters, and deleted characters are subject to a waiting period, so avoid filling every slot impulsively.

Victoria Island is the real foundation of Founder’s Access. Its towns contain the job instructors, crafting specialists, citizenship systems, party quest, and the bosses that define the early endgame. Forgotten Hollow is not available during this phase, so do not build your leveling plan around content beyond the announced map pool.

Level Cap 100 and Every Available Job Path
The Founder’s Access level cap is Lv. 100. First Job Advancement unlocks at Lv. 10, and Second Job Advancement becomes available at Lv. 30. Third jobs are not part of this opening phase, which means players should judge a class by its first two advancements rather than planning around skills that are not yet accessible.
| Job | Town and Instructor | Second-Job Choices at Lv. 30 |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Perion — Dances with Balrog | Fighter, Page, Spearman |
| Magician | Ellinia — Grendel the Really Old | Wizard (Fire/Poison), Wizard (Ice/Lightning), Cleric |
| Bowman | Henesys — Athena Pierce | Hunter, Crossbowman |
| Thief | Kerning City — Dark Lord | Assassin, Bandit |
Which job should a new Classic World player choose?
Pick for the Lv. 30 kit you actually want to play. Warriors are straightforward and durable but spend time walking into melee range. Magicians gain excellent area control and utility, although potion use can be expensive. Bowmen offer stable ranged damage and positional play. Thieves are fast and rewarding, but early weapon and star management can be demanding. If your group lacks support, Cleric is an especially practical long-term choice; if you are playing alone, prioritize a class whose early grind you enjoy rather than chasing theoretical endgame rankings.
Five Bosses Define the Founder’s Access Endgame
Five bosses are available across Victoria Island: Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom, and Jr. Balrog. They are not simply a checklist. In a classic ruleset, boss access, travel time, spawn competition, potion usage, and party composition all matter. Jr. Balrog in particular should be treated as a group objective until the community has better gear and reliable damage benchmarks.

My recommendation is to establish a sustainable leveling and income loop before repeatedly hunting bosses. Repair, travel, potions, throwing stars, ammunition, and equipment upgrades can drain a new character faster than expected. Do not spend every Meso on a marginal weapon upgrade if it leaves you unable to grind efficiently.
Three New Systems Change Early Progression
Beauty Album: save appearances instead of losing them
The Beauty Album stores hairstyles, face styles, and skin colors in one place. That turns appearance changes into a collection system rather than a one-way decision. For fashion-focused players, the sensible approach is to save a look before experimenting with another one, especially when limited cosmetics begin circulating.

Crafting begins at Lv. 10
Crafting is a new Classic World system available from Lv. 10. Materials gathered while exploring can be converted into useful items, and continued crafting raises your skill and opens additional recipes. Six specialists cover the launch professions:
- Silas Irons: Smithing.
- Mr. Thunder: Weaponcrafting.
- Francois: Tailoring.
- Vicious: Woodcrafting.
- JM From tha Streetz: Leatherworking.
- Chrishrama: Arcforge.

From a player-economy perspective, the first days will be volatile. Materials that look worthless may suddenly become bottlenecks once more characters reach the relevant recipe tier. Check recipes before vendoring stacks, compare the cost of crafting against buying finished gear, and keep enough liquid currency for potions and travel. Players who want an additional way to plan their early economy can also review current options for GMSCW Mesos before committing to expensive upgrades.
Citizenship begins at Lv. 12
At Lv. 12, you can become a citizen of Henesys or Kerning City. Henesys applications begin with Arthur in Town Hall, while Kerning City applications go through Roxy in the Civic Center. Local Community Boards provide resident requests that award Contribution and improve your citizenship grade.
Citizenship offers practical economic benefits: access to specialty-shop items and discounts on cabs, Storage Keeper services, and selected general-store goods. Choose the town that best matches your training routes and spending habits. A discount you use every session is more valuable than a perk in a town you rarely visit.

Kerning City Party Quest Returns at Lv. 21
Characters Lv. 21 and above can enter First Time Together, the classic Kerning City Party Quest. Groups solve stage mechanics, defeat monsters, and eventually fight King Slime. For new players, this is one of the best places to learn how Classic World expects parties to communicate. For veterans, it is the familiar early-game social loop many remember from old MapleStory.
Do not arrive expecting a modern automatic group finder to do all the work. Prepare consumables, understand your role, and allow time to assemble a party. The social friction is intentional—and often produces better memories than another silent solo grind.

Founder’s First Step: 14 Check-In Rewards
Founder’s First Step runs from October 6 at 6:00 PM UTC through October 20 at 11:59 PM UTC. Characters must be Lv. 10 or higher. Speak to the Maple Administrator, accept the event quest, and check in once per day.
The reward track is cumulative, not a consecutive-login streak. Missing a day does not reset your progress, but the short event window leaves very little room if you want all 14 claims. Rewards can be collected once per account for each check-in day.
- Day 1: 5,000 Leaf Points coupon, five Megaphones, three Super Megaphones, three Atmospheric Effect Boxes, 30 Red Potions, and 30 Blue Potions.
- Days 2–7: Each check-in grants a 1,000 Leaf Points coupon plus ten Red and ten Blue Potions.
- Days 8–14: Each check-in grants three Megaphones and one Atmospheric Effect Box.
The Leaf Point coupons, Megaphones, Super Megaphones, and Atmospheric Effect Boxes are untradeable and expire after seven days. The Red and Blue Potions are account-bound and permanent. Atmospheric Effect Boxes randomly award Snowy Snow, Sprinkled Flowers, Soap Bubbles, Sprinkled Presents, or Snowflakes, each with a seven-day duration.

Complete GM Event Schedule
Founder’s Access also includes four GM-led activities. For Physical Fitness, Coconut Harvest, and Up and Up, speak to Paul at Lith Harbor to enter the event map. You cannot participate if you already own a Scroll of Secrets or joined a GM event within the previous 24 hours, so choose your session carefully.
| Event | Date and Time (UTC) | What Players Do |
|---|---|---|
| Physical Fitness Challenge | October 7 and 14 12:00–2:00 AM | Finish a jump quest within 15 minutes. Haste, Teleport, and consumables are disabled. |
| Coconut Harvest | October 12 12:00–2:00 AM | Two teams use melee attacks to harvest coconuts for five minutes; ranged attacks and skills are disabled. |
| Up and Up | October 9 and 19 12:00–2:00 AM | Navigate ladders and deceptive portals through three stages before time expires. |
| Monster Invasion | October 11, 16, and 20 1:00–2:00 AM | Join other players to defeat GM-summoned monsters in towns. Town deaths do not apply a penalty. |

The first three activities award a Scroll of Secrets to successful players or the winning team. Monster Invasion offers drop opportunities from summoned enemies including Mano, King Slime, Mushmom, Zombie Mushmom, and Jr. Balrog. Because the dates are listed in UTC, convert them before planning your session—several windows fall on the previous evening in North American time zones.
A Veteran Player’s Founder’s Access Priority List
- Prepare the client and account first. Confirm your launcher, Steam installation, Nexon login, and Founder’s Access eligibility before servers open.
- Choose controls immediately. Test Classic versus Modern Style and enable controller support before leaving Maple Island.
- Reach Lv. 10 on day one. Complete First Job Advancement, unlock Crafting, and begin Founder’s First Step check-ins.
- Protect your early economy. Keep potion, travel, ammunition, and crafting costs in mind; do not sink all your currency into one upgrade.
- Unlock Citizenship at Lv. 12. Pick the town whose discounts and location suit your normal route.
- Prepare for Kerning PQ at Lv. 21. Bring consumables and make friends instead of waiting until the entrance to find a group.
- Plan the Lv. 30 branch in advance. Gear and skill priorities change substantially after Second Job Advancement.
- Put GM events on your calendar. The windows are brief, use UTC, and some activities impose a 24-hour participation restriction.
- Claim expiring items deliberately. Seven-day rewards are most useful when activated during a period you can actually play.
Important Grand Launch Notes
Accounts that completed [Event] A Strange and Familiar Wood and [Event] Beyond the Unknown during Closed Online Tests #1 and #2 will be able to claim the Classic Beginnings Label/Chat Ring at Grand Launch. The Mark of Beta event is also scheduled to begin when Grand Launch arrives on October 21, 2026.
Founder’s Packages remain available through October 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM PDT. The Orange Mushroom and Zakum packages include Founder’s Access; players entering at the regular Grand Launch do not need to treat the paid early period as mandatory. Progress made during Founder’s Access carries forward, but Classic World is a long-term MMO, not a two-week sprint.

Final Thoughts
Nexon’s launch build is deliberately focused. The Lv. 100 cap and Victoria Island boundary keep the community close together, while Crafting, Citizenship, the Beauty Album, Kerning PQ, boss hunting, and GM events give players more to do than follow a single leveling route.
The strongest opening strategy is not simply to grind harder. Prepare the client, reach Lv. 10 early, begin the check-in track, learn which drops feed Crafting, protect your Meso reserve, and build a reliable group before the boss and party-quest population becomes fragmented. Classic MapleStory has always rewarded knowledge and community as much as raw playtime, and Founder’s Access appears designed around exactly that rhythm.
