Instead of ranking classes only by damage numbers, this tier list focuses on the full gameplay package, including skill combinations, mobility, survivability, training efficiency, and overall enjoyment.
This ranking is based on the second closed online test experience, where every class was tested with similar level 70 equipment while progressing toward level 100. Because of this, the results mainly represent how each class performed with a balanced setup rather than with expensive upgrades, perfect gear, or large amounts of MapleStory Classic World Mesos invested in progression. Future updates may change the rankings, but these results provide a useful look at how each third job class currently feels.
Dragon Knight once again proves why it is considered one of the strongest warrior choices. The class offers excellent mobbing ability, strong damage output, and improved flexibility compared with older versions.
One of the biggest advantages is that important skills such as Dragon Fury and Piercing Crusher now work with their own damage values instead of relying heavily on old attack formulas. This gives players more freedom when building their character.
Dragon Knights also gain better survivability through Final Attack healing, which helps balance the HP drain from Dragon Blood. While keeping Final Attack active may slightly reduce damage, the extra sustain can save resources during long grinding sessions.
The Rush skill improves mobility, while Iron Will provides additional protection against knockback effects. With strong training speed, better movement, and reliable survival tools, Dragon Knight earns an S-tier position.
Ranger is another class that impressed many players during testing. This class combines serious damage, excellent mobility, and flexible combat options.
Arrow Rain provides powerful area damage, while Windstep Leap gives Rangers better movement during training. The class can also apply fire damage effects and use Puppet to safely attack from a distance.
A major strength of Ranger is flexibility. Players can jump into groups of enemies and clear quickly, or maintain distance and control the battlefield. The skill set feels connected, making the class enjoyable for both grinding and general gameplay.
Because Ranger offers reliable damage, useful status effects, and multiple ways to approach fights, it comfortably reaches S Tier.
Hermit remains a strong thief class thanks to its mobility and defensive abilities. While other classes gained movement improvements, reducing some of Hermit's previous uniqueness, the class still provides excellent utility.
Dark Sight remains one of the strongest abilities because monsters completely ignore the player while it is active. This single skill provides incredible safety in dangerous areas.
Hermits also gain improved recovery options and defensive mechanics, including a chance to avoid fatal situations. Although the class may not dominate damage rankings like before, its combination of mobility, safety, and convenience places it in A Tier.
Chief Bandit receives several improvements that make the class much more enjoyable. Flash Jump combined with Assaulter creates excellent movement options, while Chakra provides additional healing.
The class also has many attack choices, including Meso Explosion, Band of Thieves, Assaulter, and Savage Blow. This variety makes combat feel active and rewarding.
However, Chief Bandit sacrifices some damage potential for defensive strength and mobility. Some mobbing abilities are less effective than before, but the overall toolkit remains impressive.
For players who enjoy fast movement and unique mechanics, Chief Bandit is an excellent A Tier choice.
Ice Lightning Mage continues to perform extremely well because of its incredible mob-clearing ability. Although freezing mechanics are weaker compared with the past, the class still has strong crowd control and reliable damage.
Thunder Spear gains improved effectiveness by hitting multiple enemies and applying the Electrocute status effect. Additional resistances also make the class safer during training.
Without full freezing power, it does not quite reach S Tier, but its damage, range, and mobbing strength make A Tier a fair placement.
Crusader has interesting mechanics, especially when using axes and creating multiple bleed effects. The class can deal impressive damage, but it requires preparation because combo building is important.
Rush improves theclass'ss mobility problems, but the short attack range remains noticeable. Some skills, such as Shout, feel less effective compared with direct attacks.
The class may become much stronger against enemies with larger health pools where damage-over-time effects have more time to work. For now, Crusader fits comfortably in B Tier.
Sniper still provides good damage, but some abilities do not combine as smoothly as other archer classes.
For example, slowing effects overlap with existing critical hit effects, reducing their usefulness. Backdash sounds helpful but feels less practical during normal gameplay.
Compared with Ranger, Sniper has fewer advantages in mobility and utility. The damage is still respectable, but the overall skill design feels less complete, placing it in B Tier.
White Knight has improved dramatically compared with older versions. Previously considered one of the weaker choices, the class now has better tools and more interesting gameplay.
Charge skills can provide different elemental effects, including burn, slow, and electrocute effects. Rush also solves some mobility problems.
However, White Knight depends heavily on fighting monsters with the correct elemental weaknesses. Other classes are often easier to use because they are less dependent on specific situations.
The class is now a solid B Tier option and a much better choice than before.
Priest struggles compared with other third job classes during testing. Heal provides less damage and weaker recovery, leaving players relying heavily on Holy Arrow for a long period.
Although Holy Symbol received changes, the new version did not feel as impactful during testing. The class still provides support abilities, but those abilities lost effectiveness without gaining enough new benefits.
Priest remains valuable for players who enjoy support gameplay, but based on the test experience, it currently falls into C Tier.
The rankings above are not meant to say that S Tier classes are always the only correct choices. Every class has different strengths, and personal playstyle matters greatly in a slower progression environment. The best class is ultimately the one that keeps you interested through hundreds of hours of training.
Future balance changes, stronger equipment, and new content may completely change how each class performs.
