What to Know About ARC Raiders Update 1.45.0

The latest ARC Raiders Live Update 1.45.0 is now going live, bringing a mix of new content, important currency changes, gameplay fixes, and technical improvements. For players keeping track of ARC Raiders Items, the update is also worth checking out because several systems and quality-of-life features are being adjusted. After the update becomes available, restart the game to begin the download.

This is expected to be the final major Live Update before October 8, although the developers have confirmed that a smaller update is still planned before that date. That means there is still more to come before the next major stage of the game arrives with the Frozen Trail update.

New Raider Project: Ascending the Mountain

One of the main additions in Update 1.45.0 is the new Raider Project, Ascending the Mountain. Raider activity has uncovered more clues about the strange phantom ARC signals that have been causing concern for Shani.

The problem is that the signals appear to be coming from a mountain range beyond the current reach of the Tube system. Raiders cannot simply travel there through the usual route, so a different solution is needed. Apollo is reportedly working on an experimental way forward and is looking for Raiders who understand schematics and know how to work carefully without attracting too much attention.

This project gives players another mystery to follow while building toward the game's upcoming content.

Cred Is Being Retired

A major change in this update concerns Cred. The currency will remain available until October 8, but it will then be retired as part of the transition toward the Frozen Trail update and the planned rework of Raider Decks.

If you still have Cred on your account, make sure to spend it before the deadline. You can use your remaining Cred with Shani or on any Raider Deck rewards that you have not claimed yet.

The developers have also confirmed that the existing Raider Deck rewards are not simply disappearing. They will be included in the new and more extensive reward system planned for Frozen Trail. Any rewards you have already claimed will remain yours after the transition.

However, unused Cred itself will expire when the Frozen Trail update arrives, so there is little reason to leave it sitting on your account.

Expedition 5 Begins

Update 1.45.0 also marks the beginning of Expedition 5. One useful change is that starting an Expedition will no longer automatically reset your quests.

Instead, players can now decide whether they want to reset their quests when departing. This gives Raiders more control over their progression and makes preparing for an Expedition less restrictive.

For players who have been carefully working through quests, this should make the Expedition system easier to manage.

Hornet Hunter Set and Community Ducks

The Hornet Hunter Set is another featured addition in the update. Players who enjoy customizing their Raider can look forward to adding the new set to their collection.

The community-designed rubber ducks have also finally arrived in the game. These duckies were selected by the community and can now be found in Bird City. Once obtained, players can display them in their Raider Den as a small way to personalize their space.

The Boonie outfit is also scheduled to become available starting September 15.

Gameplay and Combat Improvements

Several gameplay changes should make everyday Raider runs feel smoother. Landing on moving surfaces will now cause players to follow the surface after they land rather than behaving as though they are still airborne.

Quick item controls have also been improved. Players can now rebind quick item cycling separately from the quick-use wheel, disable cycling completely, or assign both functions to the same key. This is designed to reduce accidental item swaps after closing the wheel.

The update also fixes an issue that prevented ARC Turbine mines from being pinged. The Aphelion has received reduced weapon sway as well, giving players improved aiming stability.

Another important fix affects the Matriarch. Its stomp attack could previously damage players through tall cover or even when they were standing on top of the Matriarch. That behavior has now been corrected.

ARC, Audio and Stability Fixes

Snitch Scanners now spawn ARC in a way similar to regular Snitches, although the chance of producing stronger ARC is lower.

On the audio side, an issue causing the Equalizer to play its firing sound when being holstered has been fixed. Voice chat should also now work correctly when Raider Voice is enabled.

Several stability problems have been addressed too. This includes a PS5 crash that could happen shortly after starting a session, as well as crashes caused by rapidly pressing certain keys during gameplay.

The update also addresses a squad issue where a player could sign out and rejoin, leaving the squad unable to ready up or start matchmaking.

Performance and UI Improvements

One of the bigger technical changes is the upgrade from Unreal Engine 5.3 to Unreal Engine 5.7. The update also contains various UI improvements.

The loadout weight indicator now updates immediately when players drop part of a stack. Selected Skill Tree nodes have received visual adjustments, while some map markers based on distance have been corrected.

If an inventory is full, the pickup prompt will now clearly display “loadout full”. Matchmaking error messages have also been improved, giving players clearer information when they go offline while queuing or when their crossplay settings prevent matchmaking.

Known Issues to Watch

The developers are still tracking several problems. Some players could not start the second part of the Phantom Targets project, and compensation is planned for a future update.

There are also ongoing Xbox Series S crash investigations, along with PC crashes associated with Windows Update KB5121003. Epic users may experience sudden keyboard input loss, with disabling overlays and alt-tabbing suggested as temporary workarounds.

Other known issues include incorrect Rawhide headgear toggling, missing throw animations for Trigger Nades, broken weapon swap animations after vaulting, and animation problems while searching Baron Husks. Shredders can also float toward ceilings in some Hidden Bunker rooms, while Leapers may jump through ARC Turbines.

Players may additionally notice problems with shots fired while riding ARC, flashlight beams passing through certain doors, and clipping involving the Triumph, Reaver, and Azimuth outfits.

Spend Your Cred Before the Deadline

Overall, Update 1.45.0 is less about introducing a huge amount of new content and more about preparing ARC Raiders for its next phase. Between Ascending the Mountain, Expedition 5, the Hornet Hunter Set, community ducks, gameplay fixes, and the upcoming retirement of Cred, there are several reasons to log in and check what has changed. If you still have unused Cred, spending it before October 8 should be a priority.

With Frozen Trail bringing a new reward system and a Raider Deck rework, players have plenty to prepare for. Those looking to organize their progression and pick up useful resources can also buy ARC Raiders Items to support their next runs.
