PoE 2 Fight The Aberration Boss

How to Fight The Aberration Boss

To defeat The Aberration—the massive spider-like Expedition pinnacle boss in Path of Exile 2—you must master its physical slams, cosmic drops, and a chaotic final web phase. This fight drops Starlit Ore, which you can use to craft random unique items.

Here is how to survive and beat each phase of the fight.

Phase 1 & 2: Legs, Slams, and Comets

During the early and middle parts of the fight, the boss uses heavy physical attacks and dangerous arena hazards.

  • Watch the Front Legs: The Aberration will execute a big swing of its front legs. This attack has a massive range. Do not stand directly in front of its face. Try to circle around to its side or back to avoid the worst of the cleaves.
  • The Big Slam Combo: The boss will rear up for a heavy slam that is followed immediately by an explosive blast. Watch for the visual wind-up, maintain your distance, and timing-lock your dodge rolls.
  • Cosmic Orbs: Be on the lookout for falling comet projectiles. These hit very hard and can quickly end your run if you stand still. Keep moving in a circular path to keep them from landing directly on top of you.

Phase 3: The Spider Web Visual Spam

When the boss reaches its final phase, the arena turns into a chaotic spider web zone filled with visual effects. This is the hardest part of the fight.

  • Avoid the Middle Strategy: Trying to stand in the center and burst down the boss while spamming health potions usually fails. The incoming damage is too high.
  • Run the Outside Ring: The safest strategy is to run around the outside edge of the web area. Focus entirely on dodging the chaotic visual spam until the heaviest hazard waves pass.
  • Look for Safe Windows: Only step in to use your high-damage skills when there is a brief break in the comet and projectile spam.

The Aberration Boss Drops

Confirmed Base Drops

  • Rare Socket Currency: Exactly a 5% chance to drop rare socket currency.
