List of Marathon Currency

In Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon (launched March 5, 2026), the economy is built around three distinct currencies used for gear, progression, and cosmetics:

List of Marathon Currency

1. Credits (Main In-Game Currency)

Credits are the primary currency earned through standard gameplay and are used to sustain your "Runner" between matches.

  • How to Earn: Auto-salvaging loot after a successful extraction, completing faction contracts, or finding physical credit cards during a raid.
  • Usage: Buying gear, consumables, and weapons from the Armory.
  • Key Detail: Wallet size is limited but can be expanded through CyberAcme faction upgrades.

If you're looking to jump straight into high-tier gear without the extraction grind, you can buy Marathon Credits cheap at U4N to keep your Runner fully equipped for the next raid.

2. Silk (Progression Currency)

Silk is a non-purchasable currency used specifically for the game’s "Reward Pass" system.

  • How to Earn: You earn 10 Silk every time you level up your season rank via XP.
  • Usage: Unlocking tiers in the Reward Pass (each tier typically costs 20–30 Silk).
  • Key Detail: There is a storage cap of 200 Silk (140 base + 60 overflow), encouraging players to spend it regularly.

3. LUX (Premium Currency)

LUX is the paid currency used exclusively for optional cosmetic items. Bungie has stated there is "no pay-for-power," meaning LUX cannot buy gameplay advantages.

  • How to Earn: Purchased with real money through platform stores like the PlayStation Store.
  • Usage: Buying character/weapon skins, stickers, charms, and the Premium Reward Pass (which costs 1,000 LUX).

Pricing Bundles

  • 500 LUX: ~$4.99
  • 1,120 LUX (formerly 1,100): ~$9.99
  • 3,950 LUX: ~$34.99
  • 12,000 LUX: ~$99.99

Note on Recent Changes: Shortly after launch, Bungie increased the $10 bundle from 1,100 to 1,120 LUX to address community feedback that certain 1,120 LUX skins required buying two separate currency packs.
