Continue ShoppingWardogs does not work like a traditional class-based shooter where you choose Assault, Medic, or Support before entering a match. Instead, the game determines your class progression from the weapons, equipment, and vehicles you actually use.
For Support, that means relying on LMGs, shotguns, launchers, repair tools, and construction equipment. The role is less about chasing the highest kill count and more about keeping your squad supplied, repairing vehicles, strengthening positions, and creating openings for teammates.
Support is one of six independent progression tracks in Wardogs. Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver, and Pilot can each reach level 100, while your overall WARDOG Level is calculated from the combined levels of all six tracks.
This system means you naturally progress toward Support whenever you use its designated equipment. LMG and shotgun kills provide Support progression, while launchers and construction tools also contribute to the same track.
One important detail is that reaching a level does not automatically give you the associated weapon or equipment. Level requirements unlock the ability to purchase an item, while cash is still required for the actual unlock and regular use. Managing your Wardogs Cash is therefore an important part of building a Support loadout.
Support has three main weapon categories: shotguns, light machine guns, and launchers. Each serves a different purpose, so there is no reason to use the same setup in every fight.
Shotguns are particularly effective when clearing buildings and fighting around tight objectives. The MP43 is the inexpensive starting option, while the M500 provides a semi-automatic alternative after reaching Support Level 10.
LMGs are the core of the Support arsenal. The M249 SAW becomes available at Support Level 15, while the PKM arrives later at Level 30. Their weight makes them less comfortable for aggressive movement, but they excel when you need to hold an angle and provide sustained suppressive fire.
Launchers give Support another major advantage: anti-vehicle capability. The RPG-7 is available relatively early, while the MAAWS and MGL-40 unlock at higher Support levels. The MGL-40 is especially useful when several enemies are grouped together because of its multi-shot design.
Weapons are only part of the Support role. The class also has tactical, vehicle, and building equipment that can have a much bigger impact on a coordinated team.
C4 and its Remote Detonator give Support a reliable way to deal with vehicles and defend important positions. The AT Mine provides another option for controlling routes and punishing enemy vehicles that push too aggressively.
Repair tools are equally important. The Light Drill allows you to repair damaged vehicles, while the Heavy Drill becomes available later and restores them more quickly. Keeping an important transport or armored vehicle operational can be far more valuable than simply adding another kill to the scoreboard.
Support can also construct and reinforce allied positions. The Medium Hammer is available early, while the Large Hammer becomes a stronger building option at higher levels. These tools turn Support into a genuine logistics role rather than simply another heavy weapons class.
The simplest way to gain Support XP is to use Support weapons consistently. Shotguns, LMGs, and launchers all contribute through combat, so players who actively use these weapons will naturally progress through the class.
However, you do not need to abandon your preferred primary weapon just to level Support. Construction tools can be carried alongside another weapon, allowing you to work on your base when the opportunity appears.
This creates a useful hybrid approach. You can fight with an assault rifle while still earning Support progress through building, then switch to an LMG or launcher when the situation calls for heavier firepower.
For players interested in Wardogs Boosting, this is also an important distinction. Efficient progression is not simply about getting as many kills as possible. Combining combat actions with construction, repairs, and useful team play can make your overall progression more efficient without forcing every life into the same repetitive routine.
Support is strongest when it works close to the action without being the first player through the door. LMGs are excellent for suppressing enemy positions while Assault players advance, while shotguns can handle close-range threats around defensive positions.
Your positioning should reflect the weight of your equipment. Heavy weapons and launchers are not ideal for constantly chasing enemies across open terrain, and Support is generally much stronger when operating with teammates.
Vehicle awareness is also important. Keep an eye on friendly armor and transport vehicles instead of waiting for someone to request repairs. A quick repair at the right moment can keep a push alive and prevent your team from losing an important mobile asset.
Support equipment can become expensive as you progress, particularly when higher-level weapons require substantial unlock payments. Avoid purchasing everything simply because it becomes available.
Instead, identify the role you enjoy most. If you mainly defend objectives, prioritize an LMG and building tools. If your squad frequently encounters enemy armor, invest in launchers and repair equipment. If you prefer urban combat, a shotgun can be a more practical choice.
This approach keeps your Wardogs Cash under control while allowing you to build a loadout that actually fits your playstyle.
The best Support players in Wardogs are not necessarily the ones with the highest kill totals. Their real value comes from everything happening around those kills: suppressing enemies, repairing vehicles, destroying armor, reinforcing positions, and giving teammates the tools they need to keep fighting.
Once you understand how Support progression works, combine weapons with utility equipment, and spend your Wardogs Cash with a clear purpose, the class becomes much more rewarding.
