To beat the 42 Conquest Map quickly and unlock those Negro Leagues legends, follow these high-speed strategies:

Fast Completion Strategy

  • Skip the "Steal Fans" Phase: Unless a specific goal requires it, always skip this phase. It adds an extra full game that provides very little benefit compared to expanding your territory.
  • Expansion Over Strongholds: Your priority for the first few turns is to capture as many empty hexagons as possible. More territories directly equal more reinforcements (fans) each turn.
  • Simulate Everything (Except Strongholds): Never play standard territory battles. Always choose Simulate to save time. You will lose some fans, but you'll finish the map hours faster.
  • The "Snake" Method: Concentrate all your reinforcements on one single tile. Use this high-numbered "attacking" tile to steamroll through territories until you reach a stronghold.

Stronghold Tips

  • Lower the Difficulty: To play on Rookie or Veteran, you generally need roughly 4x the number of fans as the stronghold you're attacking. If you’re struggling with the CPU, spend a few turns purely reinforcing your lead tile to drop that difficulty down.
  • Starting Pitcher Trick: The CPU selects their pitcher based on yours. If you use your 5th starter (your lowest overall), the CPU will also use their 5th starter, often making the game much easier to win.
