The first step toward unlocking the Festival Playlist is finishing the Horizon Invitational, a short series of races designed to introduce players to competitive events and award the first wristband in the progression system. To start, enter the Horizon Invitational through the festival hub, which gives you access to the initial races.
Next, complete all the races in the Invitational to earn the yellow wristband. Afterward, you can track your wristband progression as it moves from Yellow → Green → Blue → Pink, displayed at the top of the UI. Once you have the yellow wristband, you are officially part of Horizon events, signaling that you’re ready to access the Festival Playlist content.

To access the Festival Playlist, you'll first need to earn your Yellow Wristband, which marks your official entry into the Horizon Festival. Here's how:
Drive through the mandatory opening showcase events across Tokyo city streets, rural highways, and mountain passes. These sequences familiarize you with Japan's dense, vertical map and give you your first taste of Horizon racing.
Complete the first Horizon Festival qualifier race. This event tests your basic racing skills and ensures you understand the core mechanics of the Festival events.
After completing the qualifier, you will receive your Yellow Wristband. This officially inducts you into the main Horizon campaign and unlocks the Festival Playlist in your pause menu.
