Getting the best gear in Aion 2 is a crucial part of progressing in the game, especially if you want to dominate both PvP and PvE content. Whether you're gearing up for intense battles or tackling the toughest dungeons, knowing how to obtain the best gear is key. Here's a guide to help you get there, from early leveling all the way to max-level gear.

Early Game: Reaching Level 45

Before you can grab the top-tier gear, you need to hit level 45, the cap for early-game progression. To make this happen, focus on the following:

1. Main Quests

Stick to the main storyline by completing Episode Quests marked with a yellow icon. These quests will provide essential experience and starting gear, so they're your top priority as you level up.

2. Sealed Dungeons & Strongholds

When you hit a level plateau, run Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds. These side activities drop upgrade materials, such as Devenian Crystals and Enhancement Stones, which will help you improve your gear before tackling tougher content.

3. Spirit Forge Weapon

Complete the Abyss quest to obtain your first Unique (Gold) weapon. This will be a major boost to your damage output and overall progression.

How to Get the Best Gear in Aion 2

Mid-Game: Farming Gold Gear

Once you reach level 45, you'll have access to better gear farming opportunities. This is the time to focus on acquiring top-tier Gold Gear.

1. As Fire Temple (Expedition)

As Fire Temple is one of the best places to farm high-quality gear in the mid-game. It's considered a gold standard for efficient farming due to its relatively high drop rate and low energy consumption.

  • High Drop Rate: Side bosses in this dungeon have about a 40% chance to drop gold items.
  • Low Energy Cost: It only consumes 30 Oda Energy, so you can farm here for long periods without burning through your resources too quickly.

Your goal here is to boost your Gear Score (GS) to at least 1,000–1,400. This will allow you to access higher-tier content and more rewarding dungeons.

Endgame Gear: PvP vs. PvE

Once you're at the endgame, you'll be focusing on obtaining the best gear for either PvP or PvE.

1. PvP Gear

PvP gear is earned through Abyss Points (AP), which you accumulate by participating in PvP activities like the Abyss War and open-world PvP.

  • Best Source: The Abyss Point Shop is where you'll spend AP and Medals to buy the best PvP gear.
  • Tiers: There are four tiers of PvP gear. Tier 1 gear can be acquired with just Abyss Points, while Tier 4 gear requires rare soulbound traits and specialized medals—this is the ultimate "God Tier" gear.

2. PvE Gear

PvE gear, on the other hand, is mainly crafted. You'll gather materials like Selenium and other high-end crafting materials to create the best-in-slot gear.

  • Crafting: The highest-performing PvE gear will come from crafting and will provide specific % PvE damage bonuses that drops can't match.
  • Focus: Prioritize crafting sets that boost your overall damage and survival rate in dungeons and raids.

Key Gear Enhancement Tips

To maximize the effectiveness of your gear, here are some tips for gear enhancement and optimization:

1. Weapon First

Your weapon should always be your first priority for enhancement. The higher your weapon's stats, the faster you can farm and kill enemies, which leads to quicker gear upgrades.

2. Don't Over-Enhance Blue Gear

While blue gear is useful early on, you don't want to waste resources over-enhancing it. Only upgrade blue gear until it meets the Gear Score requirements for the next dungeon or activity. This will save your materials for later.

3. Permanent Power: Amulets and Belts

Amulets and Belts are permanent gear that won't get replaced easily. Focus on upgrading these items, as they provide essential stats for your character's progression. You can upgrade them from gray to gold using Feathers and Monoliths, ensuring your long-term success.

4. Soulbinding & Rerolling

Use gold-quality items from your farming efforts to reroll the traits of your gear. The soulbinding system lets you tailor your gear's traits to your playstyle, making sure you get the most out of your endgame gear.
