How to Find and Defeat Vorana, Last to Fall in PoE 2

Vorana, Last to Fall is a deadly boss in Path of Exile 2 linked to the Runes of Aldur (Expedition) mechanic. Fighting her requires specific progression through the Atlas of Worlds and proper management of her lethal combat mechanics.

How to Find Vorana

You cannot encounter Vorana by normal exploration; you must follow a targeted questline to unlock her:

• The Grand Expedition Quest : Speak with Dannig and Makoru in the Ruins of Kingsmarch to obtain Makoru's Logbook.
• Defeat Medved First : Navigate islands using Makoru's logbook to find and defeat the first boss, Medved, the Fallen Seer . Defeating Medved drops Vorana's Logbook .

• Unlock the Black Scythe Islands : Return to Kingsmarch and use Vorana's Logbook. This reveals a network of high-tier islands (requiring a Tier 11+ Waystone ) filled with Black Scythe Mercenaries.

  

• Detonate the Tomb : Enter the map, meet up with Tujen , and deliberately guide your explosive chain to detonate Vorana's Tomb to trigger the lair encounter.

  

Boss Mechanics & Strategy

The fight against Vorana relies heavily on strict positioning and quick reflexes to dodge high physical area damage.

• The Lethal Dark Fog (Deathtrap) : The arena will fill with a dark, swirling fog. You must stay inside the small safe circle immediately surrounding Vorana. Stepping out into the fog deals massive damage over time that will kill your character within one to two seconds.
• Double Scythe Slash & Lacerate : Vorana utilizes area-of-effect cleaves and double slashes that emit physical shockwaves. Because you are forced to fight close to her, you must constantly circle around her back to avoid getting clipped.
• Knockback Dashes : She will frequently attempt to charge and dash directly through you. These attacks deal heavy damage and knock you back—which can accidentally push you straight into the deadly outer fog if you are not careful.

Rewards and Uniques

Defeating Vorana yields valuable progression rewards and highly sought-after build-enabling items.

• Exotic Coins Currency : Vorana drops a large amount of Exotic Coins, which are crucial for buying items from Tujen's bargaining shop. To maximize profits, make sure to detonate remnants on the map that grant increased runic monster and artifact quantity before opening her tomb.
• Vorana's Preparation (Iron Flask) : A unique utility flask that completely restores your Ward on use. It grants Culling Strike (instantly killing enemies below 10% life) and applies Debilitate to nearby enemies, lowering their damage and movement speed.
• Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel (Circular Teachings) : An incredibly powerful unique jewel for attribute-stacking character builds. It alters your passive skill tree so that Keystone nodes grant the Circular Teachings property, causing Strength to grant increased Energy Shield instead of Life .
