Aion 2 Snowfield of Sorrow Raises the Bar for PvE Challenges

The September 9 update for Aion 2 introduces a major new PvE challenge for players who have been working toward the highest levels of character progression. The update adds the Snowfield of Sorrow Sanctuary, a difficult group activity designed for experienced players who want to test their combat skills, equipment, and teamwork. For players who regularly upgrade their characters, collect valuable Aion 2 Items, and pursue challenging endgame content, the new Sanctuary offers another important goal.

Snowfield of Sorrow features the highest difficulty level among the current PvE content in Aion 2. Its main encounter is Storm Legion Commander Deltras, a powerful boss that requires players to prepare carefully before attempting the fight. Groups that successfully defeat Deltras can obtain several valuable rewards, including Deltras's Seal, Berserk Fear Energy: [True] Weapons, Unleashed White Night Weapons, and Unleashed White Night Guards. These rewards give experienced players another opportunity to improve their characters and strengthen their endgame setups.

High Item Level Requirements

Snowfield of Sorrow is intended for well-developed characters rather than players who are still progressing through the early stages of the game. The minimum item level required to enter the Sanctuary is 5,800. Depending on the selected difficulty, the requirement can increase to as much as 6,200.

The high entry requirement makes preparation particularly important. Reaching the minimum item level is only the first step, as players still need suitable equipment, effective skill setups, and a good understanding of their roles within the group.

Players should review their equipment before entering the Sanctuary and make sure their character is prepared for prolonged combat. Damage dealers need to maintain consistent damage while avoiding unnecessary attacks from the boss. Defensive players must be ready to protect the group, while support characters need to pay close attention to healing and other important responsibilities.

Because Snowfield of Sorrow represents the highest level of PvE difficulty, communication between group members can be just as important as individual character strength.

Storm Legion Commander Deltras

Storm Legion Commander Deltras is the central boss encounter inside Snowfield of Sorrow. Defeating Deltras is necessary to complete the Sanctuary and claim its rewards.

The encounter gives players access to several pieces of high-level equipment and related rewards. Deltras's Seal is one of the notable items available from the encounter. Players can also pursue Berserk Fear Energy: [True] Weapons, Unleashed White Night Weapons, and Unleashed White Night Guards.

The reward selection provides different reasons for players to challenge the Sanctuary. Some players may want to improve their combat power, while others may be more interested in completing one of the most difficult PvE activities available. Either way, repeatedly challenging the encounter can help groups become more familiar with its mechanics and improve their overall performance.

Special Rewards for the First 20 Forces

The Hard difficulty of Snowfield of Sorrow also introduces a competitive race for early-clearing groups. Special rewards will be given to the first 20 forces that successfully complete the Hard difficulty.

The first force to clear the challenge will receive Pet: Golden Void and the title “First to Shatter the Sword of Frost and Cold.” Forces that finish in second through fifth place will receive Pet: Silver Void. Other qualifying forces that complete the challenge afterward will receive Pet: Bronze Void.

These rewards give organized groups an additional reason to prepare before entering the Sanctuary. The competition is not simply about obtaining stronger equipment. Players also have the opportunity to earn exclusive recognition that can demonstrate their group's achievement.

New Hall of Fame

A new Hall of Fame has been added alongside Snowfield of Sorrow. It allows players to view information about the first through third forces that successfully complete the dungeon.

The feature gives the wider community a way to recognize the earliest successful groups. For competitive players, appearing in the Hall of Fame can become an additional achievement alongside the rewards received from clearing the Hard difficulty.

A new commendation system also encourages players to recognize useful contributions from their teammates. The system activates automatically after completing a dungeon and allows players to select one of five categories.

The available categories are Outstanding Skill, Reliable Guardian, Dedicated Support, Excellent Leadership, and Kind Mentor. This approach recognizes different types of contributions instead of focusing only on damage numbers. A player can receive recognition for strong combat performance, dependable protection, effective support, leadership, or helping other players.

Skill Presets and World Marks

The September 9 update also includes several additional gameplay improvements. Skill presets have been revamped, giving players more flexibility when preparing different combat configurations.

World Marks have also been introduced. They can be used across Fields, Expeditions, Transcendence, Sanctuaries, and the Abyss. These additions provide players with more options for organizing and managing their activities across different areas of the game.

A customization improvement has also been introduced for dye patterns. Players can now adjust the size of dye patterns, giving them greater control over the appearance of their characters and equipment.

Although these features are separate from the new Sanctuary, they add useful improvements to the overall experience and give players more flexibility when preparing their characters.

Upcoming Soul Inscription Improvements

During the September 8 livestream, the development team also revealed several features planned for future updates. One of the most notable changes is an automated tuning feature for Soul Inscription.

The planned system will allow the tuning process to continue automatically until the desired target options are obtained. This could reduce the amount of manual effort required when players are trying to achieve specific Soul Inscription combinations.

The feature should be particularly useful for players who frequently adjust their character builds and spend significant amounts of time looking for preferred options.

Temple of Fire Expedition Trial

Another upcoming addition is Temple of Fire, a new Expedition Trial Dungeon. Players with an item level of 4,800 or higher will be able to access this activity.

The lower entry requirement compared with Snowfield of Sorrow means Temple of Fire can serve a different role in the overall progression system. Players who are not yet ready for the highest difficulty Sanctuary can use other challenging content to continue improving their characters and preparing for future encounters.

This creates a broader progression path for players at different stages of development. Rather than focusing exclusively on the hardest content, players can choose activities that match their current equipment and combat experience.

Preparing for Snowfield of Sorrow

Snowfield of Sorrow gives experienced Aion 2 players a demanding new objective. Its high item level requirement, powerful boss, exclusive rewards, early-clear competition, and Hall of Fame make it one of the most significant PvE additions in the September 9 update.

Players planning to challenge the Sanctuary should focus on improving their equipment, reviewing skill presets, understanding their roles, and practicing effective group coordination. Good preparation can make the difference between an unsuccessful attempt and a successful clear. Players who want to accelerate their progression can also consider buy Aion 2 Items as part of their preparation.

With Snowfield of Sorrow now available and Temple of Fire planned for a future update, Aion 2 continues to provide players with multiple progression goals. Whether the objective is defeating Storm Legion Commander Deltras, earning exclusive rewards, improving equipment, or choosing to Abuy Aion 2 Items, having a clear progression strategy will help players make better use of the latest content.
