Aion 2 Launch Date Global
AION 2 is officially scheduled to launch globally in September 2026.
Publisher NCSoft officially confirmed this launch window at the Summer Game Fest. This global expansion follows the game's initial launch in South Korea and Taiwan back in November 2025.
Key Details About the Global Launch
- Platforms: The global version is built specifically for PC. It will be available through Steam and NCSoft's own PURPLE client.
- Regions & Servers: Dedicated local servers will be hosted across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
- Language Support: The game will support 10 different languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Core Gameplay: Unlike many MMORPGs that only use wings for travel, AION 2 features a full freedom-of-flight system as a core combat mechanic. It will blend traditional tab-targeting action with fast-paced aerial maneuvering, PvE raids, and open-world PvP.
Pre-registration is currently open via newsletter sign-ups on the official AION 2 brand website, which will grant exclusive companion pets upon the game's official release.

The Different Character Classes You Can Choose At Launch
There are 8 playable character classes available at the launch of AION 2. Unlike the original game where you start with a base class and change later, in AION 2 you select your specific, specialized class right from the character creation screen.
The classes are divided into traditional MMORPG roles like tanks, damage dealers, and supports.
Warrior Classes
- Templar: The ultimate frontline tank. They use a sword and shield, focusing on high defensive stats, protecting teammates, and using crowd-control skills to disrupt enemies.
- Gladiator: A melee bruiser that wields heavy two-handed weapons. They specialize in dealing massive physical damage to multiple enemies at once using area-of-effect (AoE) strikes.
Scout Classes
- Assassin: A stealthy, high-mobility melee damage dealer. They hide from sight, sneak up behind targets, and use quick dual-wield attacks to defeat enemies in seconds.
- Ranger: A highly mobile ranged damage dealer. They use bows to attack from afar and lay down tactical traps to slow down or damage incoming foes.
Mage Classes
- Sorcerer: A traditional magic damage dealer. They cast powerful elemental spells like fire and ice to deal massive burst damage from a safe distance.
- Spiritmaster (Elementalist): A magical summoner class. They command elemental spirits to fight alongside them while casting curses and debuffs to weaken their targets.
Priest Classes
- Cleric: The primary healer in the game. They possess the strongest health recovery spells and protective barriers to keep their party alive during tough raids and PvP battles.
- Chanter: A hybrid support and melee fighter. They use staff weapons to fight up close while constantly chanting magical mantras that give helpful stat buffs to their teammates.
Which Classes Excel At Solo Leveling
The Spiritmaster (Elementalist) and the Gladiator are the best classes for solo leveling in AION 2.
They have the best mix of high damage and self-defense. This mix lets you defeat monsters quickly without needing a dedicated healer.
The Top Solo Leveling Classes
- Spiritmaster (Elementalist): This is the safest solo class in the game. Your summoned elemental spirits can take all the hits from monsters while you attack safely from far away. This means you rarely take any damage and have almost zero downtime between quests.
- Gladiator: This is the fastest solo melee class. They have very high health and use heavy armor to stay alive. They excel at grouping multiple enemies together and destroying them all at once with wide area-of-effect (AoE) physical attacks.
- Ranger: A fantastic option if you prefer a high-speed, ranged style. You can defeat monsters before they even touch you by utilizing traps and slow effects to keep your distance.
Classes That are Slower for Solo Play
- Cleric & Templar: These classes are incredibly durable and hard to kill, but they take much longer to defeat monsters on their own. They progress much faster when leveling up in a group.
- Assassin & Sorcerer: These classes can deal massive damage but have very low health and defense. If you make a mistake while playing alone, you can get defeated quickly, which slows down your progress.
How The Pet System Helps With Solo Play
In AION 2, the pet system acts as a massive permanent power boost rather than just giving you a cosmetic companion to follow you around.
Instead of treating pets and mounts as separate things, a pet in AION 2 acts as both your companion and your riding mount. When you are fighting alone, this system helps you survive, deal more damage, and progress much faster.
Permanent Stat Boosts
Every time you unlock and level up a pet, your character gains permanent stats called Owned Effects. You do not even need to have the pet actively summoned out to get these bonuses—simply owning them boosts your character forever.
Different pet families give different stats that are essential for surviving solo fights:
- Cogni Pets: Boost your maximum HP, Critical Hit rates, and Might/Intelligence. This helps fragile solo classes like Sorcerers survive big hits.
- Natura Pets: Give you Precision and Willpower. High precision raises your overall accuracy, ensuring your attacks never miss high-evasion monsters.
- Variant Pets: Give Evasion and Constitution, making your character naturally tougher.
Species Damage Bonuses
As you hunt specific types of monsters in the open world, you collect their "Souls" to unlock them as pets. Leveling up a specific pet group increases your Genus Insight. This grants you a direct damage percentage boost against that exact type of monster. This means the more you farm a certain area, the faster you will kill those same monsters next time.
Account-Wide Progression
The pet system is shared across your whole game account on that server. If you gather pets on your main character, your lower-level alternative characters ("alts") get all of those high-level stats right from level one. This makes leveling up new secondary characters by yourself incredibly fast and easy.
