Gearing up in Aion 2 is an essential part of your journey, and understanding the process will help you progress smoothly from the beginning to the endgame. This guide walks you through the gearing systems, with tips for new players to help them level up efficiently and prepare for the challenges ahead. Whether you're exploring the world or preparing for high-level raids, gearing will be key to your success.

Aion 2 Gearing 101: A Complete Guide for Beginners

1. Early Game Progression (Levels 1–45)

When you start your adventure in Aion 2, gearing up is a steady process that follows your main story quest (marked by the yellow icon on your map). Here's a breakdown of how to handle gearing during your early stages:

Prioritize Weapons

Early on, your main focus should be improving your weapon. Weapons have a huge impact on your effectiveness in combat, especially when clearing quests and killing monsters. Enhancing your weapon as soon as possible will speed up your progress.

  • Enhancement Stones: These stones are your best friend in improving gear. Use them to increase your weapon's power. You'll get many of them from completing quests and killing enemies.
  • Enhancement Priority: Don't overuse enhancement stones on low-level gear. Save your resources for weapons and armor that you will use in higher levels.

Don't Over-Enhance Early Gear

One key tip is to avoid over-enhancing your early gear. Enhancing low-level items past a certain point, like +10, can become costly and waste valuable resources.

  • Guaranteed Success Up to +10: Enhancing gear up to +10 is always successful, but after that, success is no longer guaranteed. Keep that in mind when spending your resources.
  • Resource Management: While enhancing is important, focus on getting the best possible endgame gear and only enhance low-level items to a reasonable level.

Gear Extraction

When you upgrade to better gear, don't just throw away your old equipment. Use the gear extraction feature, which lets you reclaim 100% of the enhancement stones used to improve it. However, the Kina (in-game currency) you spent is lost.

  • Pro Tip: Save your old gear when you get something new, and extract the enhancement stones for future use.

2. Primary Gear Sources

As you level up, there are several places you can get gear to help you get stronger. These sources are key to improving your character's stats and power.

Main Story Quests

The main story quests will provide the majority of your basic armor and weapons needed to progress. Follow the yellow quest icons to gather all the gear required for your journey.

  • Tip: Be sure to complete these quests as they are not only story-driven but also essential for basic equipment.

Sealed Dungeons & Strongholds

In the early stages, sealed dungeons and strongholds are crucial for acquiring special items like Enchantment Stones and Daevanion Points, which are used to unlock new skills.

  • Daevanion Points: These points are earned by defeating monsters and completing dungeon objectives. Spend them wisely to unlock powerful abilities.

Expedition & Conquest Dungeons

Once you reach level 45, you'll begin to enter expedition and conquest dungeons, which are your main sources for higher-level gear.

  • Gold Gear: These dungeons drop Gold Gear, which is much more powerful than the basic gear from earlier stages.
  • Key Areas to Farm:
    • Draupnir (1000+ Gear Score): Here, you can farm for Bakarma Armor, which is a great starting gear set, similar to early Abyss gear.
    • Vakron Sky Island (1600+ Gear Score): For top-tier Gold Gear, head to Vakron Sky Island. This area offers some of the best gear in the game for endgame content.

Crafting

Another important source of gear is crafting. You can craft weapons that may even be better than the drops from dungeons. Crafting uses a special "Proc" system where lower-tier items have a chance to automatically upgrade to a higher rarity.

  • Crafting Benefits: Crafting weapons can give you an edge in PvE (Player vs. Environment) by allowing you to create items tailored to your needs.

3. Key Equipment Systems

There are a few key systems in Aion 2 that you'll need to understand to maximize your gear's potential. These systems will help you fine-tune your equipment and make it more effective in different situations.

Enchantment System

The Enchantment System is used to increase the basic stats of your gear, such as Attack and Defense. This is done using Enhancement Stones, which are obtained from various in-game activities like dungeon runs.

  • How to Improve: Use stones from dungeons or extracted gear to enhance your equipment. The better the enchantment, the higher the increase in stats.

Mana Stones

Mana Stones are used to add extra attributes to your gear, like Crit Rate or Speed. These stones are slotted into gear, and you can find them in dungeons, as rewards, or by crafting.

  • How to Slot: Look for available slots on your gear and use the corresponding Mana Stones for better customization.

Soul Codex

The Soul Codex boosts the effects of additional attributes, offering more power to your character. These codices can be earned through activities such as Shugo Festivals or world events.

  • Boost Your Attributes: Focus on activities that provide these codices to improve your additional stats.

Gear Collection

The Gear Collection system allows you to register duplicate or unwanted gear. This not only helps declutter your inventory but also provides permanent, account-wide boosts to your power.

  • Gear Registration: Register duplicates of gear you no longer need to gain passive boosts for your entire account.

4. Advanced Gearing & Currencies

As you progress into higher-level content, you'll unlock new currencies and gear systems to fine-tune your power. Here are some of the advanced systems to look out for:

Abyss Gear

Abyss Gear is specialized for both PvP and PvE and can be obtained using Abyss Points. You can earn Abyss Points through Duty Quests, Artifact Sieges, and by exchanging items like Selentium in the Supply Request menu.

  • Abyss Points: These points are earned by participating in PvP activities, so keep an eye on Abyss gear if you're looking to improve your stats in both combat and raids.

Marketplace (Auction House)

The Marketplace is a great place to buy or sell gear. If you need a specific Mana Stone or a piece of missing gear, you can purchase it from other players using Kina.

  • Kuna Currency: You can also use Kuna, the premium currency, to buy Kina if you're in a rush to get a certain item. This can only be done if you have an active subscription.

Premium Currency and Subscriptions

Kuna is the premium currency in Aion 2. While you can earn most gear through gameplay, you can also use Kuna to purchase various items or exchange it for Kina to boost your in-game purchasing power.

  • Subscriptions: Subscriptions can help you access the Marketplace quicker and give you extra bonuses like more available gear and the ability to purchase more items from other players.
