Aion 2 Ferocious Horn Den Fighting Guides & Rewards

The Ferocious Horn Den (sometimes called Ferocious Den) is a 3-star Expedition dungeon in Aion 2. It is a key source for high-level gear and Kinah, typically requiring a gear score around 2,200 to 2,600 depending on the difficulty (Normal, Hard, or Conquest).

The dungeon consists of three main bosses and a challenge room. Here is the mechanics to help with your runs:

Boss 1: Watchdog Quapo

• Lightning Strikes: Avoid the floor indicators. When the lightning hits, it leaves behind dark orbs. Collect these for buffs.
• Roar Wave: The boss will jump and release a circular shockwave. Jump over it to avoid damage. If the wave hits any uncollected dark orbs, they explode for massive AOE damage.

Challenge Room (The Totem)

• Activate the central totem to start the encounter.
• Use the bombs located on the side platforms to clear out the mobs that spawn.
• Once the mobs are dead, destroy the totem to clear the path to the second boss.

Boss 2: Necromancer Dwanka

• Sentry Souls: When souls are summoned, a designated player needs to pick up a bubble/buff from the altar to effectively destroy them.
• Black Hole (Stack): A player will be rooted in a black hole. The rest of the party must stack on that player to share and mitigate the incoming damage.
• Soul Collar: The boss teleports to the center. Move to the edges of the room to dodge electrical balls. Getting hit will stun you and likely lead to a wipe.

Final Boss: Ferocious Horn (Nuakum)

This is a high-damage encounter that requires precise positioning.

• Bleed Pools: The boss leaves pools of blood on the ground. Try to bait these toward the edges of the arena to keep the center clear.
• Clone Mechanic: Horn will jump to a platform and summon clones.
  • Small Circle: Two players should stack together; one must intercept the clone's rush.
  • Large Circle: Do not stack. Individual players must intercept the clones.
• Black Hole (Orb Phase): A black hole appears in the center. The boss will fire orbs at players. You must position yourself so the black hole is between you and the boss. This forces the orbs to hit the black hole; three hits will destroy it.
• Red Orb Soak: When the boss summons a red orb over a player's head, teammates must stand between the boss and the targeted player to intercept the damage.

Key Loot & Drops

• Guaranteed Gear: Successful clears provide Level 67 gear (Armor and Weapons) to help fill out your missing equipment slots.
• Unique Items: There is a rare chance (estimated around 1%) for Strong Unique drops. These are significantly more powerful than standard dungeon gear and highly sought after for endgame builds.
• Kinah: You will receive a substantial amount of Aion 2 Kinah per run, making this one of the better dungeons for farming the game's primary currency.
• Enhancement Stones: Like most Expeditions, you will earn various enhancement stones used to upgrade your existing weapons and armor.
• Abyss Points & Materials: Occasional drops of Abyss Points and rare crafting materials used for higher-tier gear sets.

Reward Optimization

• Kill All Bosses: To maximize your loot chances from the final reward cube, ensure your party kills both mini-bosses (Watchdog Quapo and Necromancer Dwanka) rather than trying to skip directly to the end.
• Entry Limit: You generally have 7 entries available for this dungeon per cycle, so it is best to use them all to maximize your chances at the 1% unique drops.
• Combat Power (CP) Gains: Beyond the physical items, clearing this dungeon contributes to your overall progression toward the next item level tiers (e.g., reaching 2700+ for the Abyssal Forge).
