Types of Dungeons

Aion 2 features four main types of dungeons that help you upgrade your character, get better gear, and earn valuable currency. Each dungeon serves a different purpose for your daily and weekly routine.

Main Dungeon Types

  • Nightmare Dungeons: These are solo boss battles. You can complete them twice every day. They have 10 difficulty levels. Defeating them gives you Dream Fragments to use in a special shop.
  • Sealed Dungeons: These are fast, solo runs found in starter regions like Verteron and Altgard. They are the best way to earn Daevanion points to level up your skills.
  • Party Dungeons & Raids: These are 10-minute group challenges with mini-bosses and a main boss. You get seven entries per week to hunt for upgrade stones and gear.
  • Fire Temple (Explore Mode): A special dungeon that is excellent for extra characters (alts). It offers high drop rates for unique items and rewards a large amount of Kinah currency.

Group progression in Aion 2 dungeons

Group progression in Aion 2 dungeons relies on smart teamwork and timing to clear rooms quickly without wiping. Following a set strategy keeps your runs fast and efficient.

Core Group Strategies

  • Coordinate Skill Pulls: Gather large groups of enemies only when your team's big damage skills are ready. Do not waste long cooldown skills on tiny, weak enemy groups.
  • Move as a Unit: Stick together as a tight group. If players run ahead alone, they will pull extra enemy groups. This splits your team's focus and leads to quick wipes.
  • Fast Loot Management: Keep moving between fights. Do not slow down the group by cleaning your bag or sorting items in the middle of a dungeon. Grab the loot fast and inspect it later.
  • Focus Target Targets: Identify and kill high-threat enemies first, like healers or heavy damage-dealers. Group members should target the same foe to take them down quickly.

Top Solo Dungeons Survival Strategies

Soloing dungeons in Aion 2 is a fast way to get items without relying on a group, especially since standard dungeons scale down their health pools when you enter alone. Managing your stamina, animation timing, and food buffs is the key to surviving by yourself.

Top Solo Survival Strategies

  • Trick the Queue System: You can solo standard (normal mode) dungeons by starting a private party by yourself and clicking start. The boss's health and stagger pools will automatically drop to a very low amount. Note that this trick does not work for Level 45 Heroic versions.
  • Do Not Spam Abilities: Learn the boss's attack patterns instead of smashing your skill buttons. Look for safe windows to attack so you do not get caught in a heavy boss mechanic.
  • Watch Your Animations: In Aion 2, you cannot use your dash to dodge while an attack animation is running. Pick skill upgrades that allow you to cast while moving so you can walk out of danger easily.
  • Boost Stamina and Defense: Eat Fruit Salad food items before entering a tough solo fight. This cheap food boosts your block, defense, and stamina regeneration, which stops you from running out of fatigue juice during mechanics.

Solo-Specific Content Advice

  • Nightmare Dungeons: Keep your clear times steady and do not rush to higher tiers too fast. Only push the difficulty slider up when you can comfortably finish your current tier without dying.
  • Odylium Repository: Always use your daily entry for this solo-only dungeon. It is fast, easy, and rewards pet chests to help boost your account power.

Dungeon Limit and Reward Limits

Dungeon entry limits in Aion 2 control how often you can claim rewards each day and week. Unlike older games where every map has its own separate timer, Aion 2 uses shared limits across content categories. NCSoft frequently updates these limits to help players catch up.

Current Weekly and Daily Caps

  • Daily Dungeons (e.g., Bio-Research Base): You get 7 free entries per week. You do not have to log in every day to do them; you can run all 7 on a single day before the Wednesday reset. Using tickets can push this limit up to 30 entries per week.
  • Nightmare Dungeons: These solo boss challenges are limited to 2 clears per day. The entry count recharges every single day.
  • Expedition Content (High-End Group Raids): The weekly reward limit sits at 21 runs per week.
  • Transcendence Dungeons (Time-Attack Modes): The weekly reward limit is 14 runs per week.

Resource and Reward Limits

  • Aetherine Energy Cap: You can hold a maximum of 560 Aetherine Energy at one time. This energy is consumed when opening reward cubes at the end of a dungeon. If you let it sit at 560, you stop generating more and lose out on extra Kinah gold currency.
  • Shared Account Lockouts: Entry limits are tied to individual characters. To maximize your account progression, you must finish your weekly runs on both your main character and your secondary alt characters.

Bypassing the Limits

  • Challenge Tickets: Consuming specific tickets allows you to keep running a dungeon even after hitting your standard free limit.
  • Paid Memberships: Buying the $21 Expanded Membership expands your content access. It increases your daily and weekly caps and grants you bonus stamina recovery.

How to Get More Dungeon Tickets

Dungeon tickets in Aion 2 bypass daily caps, reset boss limits, or skip runs entirely to save time. Managing these tickets properly lets you farm rare gear and upgrade stones much faster.

Main Types of Tickets

  • Challenge & Expedition Tickets: These tickets grant entry to extra high-level PvE content like Conquest Expeditions or the Bio-Research Base. They allow you to exceed your standard weekly cap (for example, letting you run up to 30 extra Bio-Research Base events per week).
  • Instant Clear Tickets: These act as time-savers. If you have already beaten a specific daily dungeon at least once, you can spend this ticket to instantly collect all your rewards without running the map manually.
  • Boss Limit Reset Tickets: These rarer items let you bypass the standard daily boss reward caps. They are highly valuable during end-game gear grinding sessions.

How to Get More Tickets

  • Daily Mission Quests: Completing your 5 daily Duty Missions rewards you with random helpful items. These often include Bio-Research Base Challenge Tickets, Kinah currency, and upgrade materials.
  • Battle Pass & Season Rewards: The premium and free tracks of the Aion 2 Battle Pass consistently award extra inventory scrolls and dungeon entry tickets.
  • Official Season Promo Codes: Game updates often provide temporary codes. For example, the NCSoft Season 3 Update gave players promotional chests containing Daily Dungeon Instant Completion Tickets and Transcendence Challenge Tickets.

How Dungeon Energy Works

Dungeon energy, commonly called Odel Energy (or Aetherine Energy), is the fuel required to claim rewards at the end of a dungeon run in Aion 2. Without energy, you can still finish a dungeon, but you will not be able to open the reward chest.

How Dungeon Energy Works

  • The Reward Cost: Defeating a final dungeon boss spawns a loot cube. Opening this cube costs a set amount of energy, usually 40 Odel Energy for high-level Conquest and Transcendence dungeons.
  • Shared Pool Limits: Your dungeon energy pool is shared across all dungeon types. Running Exploration, Party, or Transcendence maps all pull from the exact same energy tank.
  • The Daily Cap Rule: Energy refills over time. However, letting your energy hit its maximum cap stops all passive recovery. You must spend your energy daily so you do not waste potential rewards or fall behind.

Why Managing Energy is Critical

  • Loot Box Scaling: Spending your energy on high-level cubes scales up your character's gear quickly. Each open provides essential gear pieces, Kinah currency, and upgrade enhancement stones.
  • Saving Extra Entry Tickets: Challenge and extra entry tickets allow you to run extra dungeons beyond your free weekly limit. However, these tickets only give you extra entry chances—you still need to save up enough Odel Energy to open the loot boxes when you win.

Best Ways to Spend Your Energy

  • Prioritize spending your energy on Transcendence and Conquest Dungeons first. These end-game modes give the best return on your 40-energy investment.
  • Avoid burning through your energy pool on low-tier solo runs if you have higher group raids available for the week.
