Aion 2 Cooking Guide

Cooking is an important crafting profession in Aion 2. It allows you to make food that boosts your stats for a limited time, which is useful in both PvP and PvE. These boosts can help improve things like attack power, defense, speed, and healing. Cooking is one of the five main crafting professions, and you'll create items instead of buying them from vendors.

What is Cooking in Aion 2?

Cooking in Aion 2 lets you create food and drinks that temporarily improve your stats. These buffs help with things like recovering health, increasing attack power, or boosting stamina in combat. It's different from gear crafting because cooking focuses on consumable items that help you perform better for a short time.

Key Points About Cooking

  • Purpose: Cooked food gives important buffs to help you in battles or dungeons.
  • Types of Dishes: You'll cook both regular dishes and special “Tasty” dishes that give better, longer-lasting buffs (e.g., 45 minutes vs. 30 minutes).
  • Learning & Leveling: You can learn cooking from NPC masters (Lainita for Asmodians and Hestia for Elyos) in main cities like the Temple of Artisans or Artisans' Hall.
  • Progression: Level up your cooking by crafting certain dishes or completing “Work Orders” using ingredients bought from vendors.
  • Materials: Cooking requires various ingredients, which you can gather or buy from NPC vendors.

How Cooking Works

  1. Collect Ingredients: Gather raw materials like meat, fish, herbs, and other food items. You can collect them from nodes or defeat monsters to get them.
  2. Get Recipes: Recipes unlock the dishes you can cook. You can get them through quests, progression, or other special methods.
  3. Use a Cooking Station: Head to a cooking station in major cities to combine the ingredients based on the recipe and create your food.
  4. Eat the Food: Eating the food gives you buffs that help in combat, exploration, or PvP.

Core Mechanics

  • Role: Turns raw materials like meats and herbs into consumables that give buffs.
  • Menu Access: You can craft items through the crafting menu or by pressing ‘P' to open the crafting section.
  • Location: Crafting can be done at special tables in major cities or directly from your player menu.
  • Progression: Crafting more items or completing Work Orders levels up your proficiency. Higher-tier recipes often require special quests or defeating elite enemies.

Ingredients & Recipes

  • Sourcing: Ingredients come from Essence Extraction (gathering herbs or cooking items) or by hunting monsters for meat.
  • Base Materials: Simple ingredients like salt, sugar, and oils can be bought from NPC vendors near crafting stations.
  • Key Recipes: Some important dishes are Raydam Juice, Curry Meat Stirfry, and high-tier recipes like Beef Wellington and Seafood Pasta.

Tips for Success

  • Work Orders: These are a great way to level up your cooking quickly.
  • Gathering: Regularly gather ingredients and level up your gathering skills for better materials.
  • Expertise: Check in with the Cooking Master to learn higher proficiency levels.
  • Substance Morphing: Use Odal to transform resources into the materials you need, saving time on farming.
  • Gathering Stats: Improve your Prophetus Hand, Delicate Touch, and Lady Luck stats to gather better ingredients.
  • Chaining System: Lower-quality foods are often needed as ingredients for higher-tier dishes, like "Artisan" or "Dark Dragon" versions.
