The August 12, 2026 update introduces a substantial set of changes to Aion 2, including new endgame activities, additional equipment tiers, redesigned PvP matchmaking, major healer adjustments, mobile interface improvements, and several system updates. For players preparing their Aion 2 Kinah and equipment for the latest challenges, this patch adds several new progression opportunities while also changing how group combat works.

The most significant gameplay change is the healing rework for Clerics and Chanters. Their major healing skills now have a 40-meter range instead of 25 meters, allowing them to support allies from a greater distance. However, this increased range comes with lower healing output. Depending on the skill and level, many healing abilities now restore 20% to 50% less HP than before. Several healing-related specializations and passive effects have also been adjusted.

New Expedition and Transcendence Content

The new Encroached Deus Research Base Expedition is now available in Exploration and Conquest modes. All versions require characters to be at least level 50, while the item-level requirement depends on the difficulty.

Exploration and Conquest Normal both require an item level of 3,800 and consume 40 Odd Energy. Conquest Hard requires an item level of 4,500 and costs 60 Odd Energy. These new activities provide additional endgame challenges for players who have already progressed through existing content.

Transcendence has also been expanded with Stages 1 through 4 of Noiran's Hidden Legacy. Stage 1 requires an item level of 3,800, while the requirement increases to 4,100 for Stage 2, 4,500 for Stage 3, and 4,800 for Stage 4. The first three stages require 40 Odd Energy, while Stage 4 costs 60.

The new Transcendence stages are particularly important because they introduce the Dice and Lantern Arcana parts. Players seeking to improve their character progression will have another reason to challenge these stages regularly.

New Draconic and Abyss Accessories

Equipment progression receives another upgrade through new Draconic accessories. Blueprints for the Azure Dragon King and Dragon-Slayer King accessories have been added to the game.

These accessories can be crafted by using Radiant Response Dragon King or Radiant Machine Dragon King accessories as inheritance materials. Players will also need Runaway Terror Aura: Accessory (Soul-bound) for the crafting process.

This material can be obtained by converting a Lava Heart accessory or by using the gear-change ticket included in guaranteed rewards from the new Expedition.

The Abyss progression path has also been expanded. Guardian Royal Guard Captain and Archon Royal Guard Captain accessories are now available through the Abyss shop. New inheritance blueprints allow players to upgrade Guardian and Archon Legion Commander accessories into the new Royal Guard Captain tier.

These additions give highly geared players another long-term equipment goal and make both the new Expedition and Abyss content more relevant to endgame progression.

Arena and Battlefield Matchmaking Changes

PvP matchmaking has received a major redesign. Co-op Arena and Battlefield teams can now be created regardless of race, allowing players from different races to be matched together.

Battlefield participation is now divided into two queue formats. Players can enter alone or as a group of exactly five. Five-player groups are matched only against other five-player groups, while solo players are matched against other solo players.

The system also applies class-balance adjustments between the two teams. This should help create more consistent team compositions while preventing organized five-player groups from being matched directly against unorganized solo players.

Players who remain outside combat for a specified period can now be forcibly removed from the Battlefield. This change is intended to discourage prolonged inactivity during matches.

The Battlefield starting protection has also been changed. The previous invulnerability effect has been replaced with a defensive-stat increase that reduces incoming damage to almost nothing. In addition, healing received inside the Battlefield has been adjusted through the base Battlefield statistics.

Major Cleric and Chanter Healing Rework

The healing changes are the central part of the class balance update.

For Clerics, Absolution, Benevolence, Radiant Benediction, Radiant Recovery, Healing Light, and Light of Regeneration now have a 40-meter radius. However, their HP recovery has been reduced by approximately 20% to 50%, depending on the skill level.

Several specializations have also received reductions. Bonuses that previously provided stronger healing when the target was below 50% HP have been lowered, while some HP-based recovery effects have been reduced by half.

Chanters receive similar changes. Healing Touch and Recuperation now have a 40-meter radius, but their healing values have been reduced. Additional recovery effects from several specializations have also been lowered.

The two healing passives have been redesigned. Blessing of Life no longer provides flat healing amplification. Instead, its healing amplification now scales with attack power, providing 18%, 21%, or 24% depending on the passive level.

The Cleric's Healing Enhancement passive follows the same approach. Its previous flat amplification has been replaced with attack-power-based healing amplification of 26%, 30%, or 34%.

These changes mean that Clerics and Chanters may need to reconsider their equipment and stat priorities. The larger healing radius improves positioning flexibility, but maintaining strong recovery will require more careful character optimization.

Additional Class Adjustments

Other classes also receive targeted balance changes.

Gladiator receives stronger healing-received reduction through Blade Toss, while several attacks gain a 3% increase to PvE damage. Ruinous Blow also receives changes to its cooldown and Battle Ready effect.

Brawler receives adjustments to Ferocity, Time Bomb, Sever Bloodstream, Hold the Line, and several other skills. Some abilities now provide different cooldown, Rage recovery, or damage effects.

Rangers receive a stronger healing-received reduction through Drill Dart. Spiritmasters gain an increased healing-received reduction from Jointstrike: Corrode, while Sorcerers receive several fixes involving Frostbite, Ember, delayed damage, and Pyroclasm.

Together, these changes place greater emphasis on healing reduction and counterplay in combat.

Mobile HUD and Shop Improvements

Mobile players receive a new HUD editing feature that allows more detailed customization. Players can adjust grid spacing, UI scale, element positions, and snapping behavior. Individual interface elements can also be hidden or restored.

The Stigma and Transformation slots can now be repositioned and resized independently. Players can also expand the consumable interface so that all eight consumable slots are visible at the same time.

The Shop has also been redesigned. Its product list now uses a card-based layout with a banner at the top, while product information is displayed through a full-screen interface.

The previous Wardrobe Shop has been removed, and its cosmetic products have been moved to the new Skin tab in the main Shop. Players can preview skins, wings, pets, and emotes directly from product information screens.

New summer-themed outfits, pets, wings, and accessories have also been added.

Events Ending With the Update

The fromis_9 collaboration event has ended with the August 12 maintenance. Event quests can no longer be progressed, while event NPCs and related objects have been removed from towns.

The special stages associated with the collaboration have also returned to their standard appearance. Players can still interact with the stages, but special effects such as fireworks are no longer available.

The Expedition & Transcendence Reward Boost Up event has also ended. Related event items and material-conversion recipes have been removed, and reward quantities have returned to their normal values.

Other Improvements and Fixes

The patch includes numerous smaller changes. Genus Insight now supports automatic analysis based on selected slots, options, and minimum grades. Crafting probability information has also been expanded to show combo probability based on mastery-level differences.

Pet auto-loot can now be turned on or off. The transparent map remembers its lock state after reconnecting, and players can move the map to a preferred position.

The contribution requirement for obtaining the Odd Energy Cube from Expedition and Transcendence has increased from 1% to 5%. This requirement may be adjusted again depending on player activity.

Several Battlefield, material-conversion, character-switching, terrain, shortcut, and achievement issues have also been fixed.

Overall, the August 12 update gives Aion 2 players a considerable amount of new content to explore. The Encroached Deus Research Base, Noiran's Hidden Legacy, new accessory tiers, and revised Battlefield system all provide fresh progression goals, while the healing rework changes how Clerics and Chanters approach group combat.

Players who want to progress through the new content more efficiently can also buy Aion 2 Boosting to reduce the amount of time required for certain progression goals. With higher item-level requirements now appearing in the newest activities, efficient preparation can help players reach the latest Expedition, Transcendence, and PvP content sooner.
