PoE Volatile Vaal Orb: How to get and use?

The Volatile Vaal Orb is a new currency item introduced in Path of Exile's version 3.28 (the Mirage league). It is a specialized version of the standard Vaal Orb that allows unique item modifiers to exceed their normal roll ranges.

• Unpredictably either randomises the values of random modifiers on a unique equipment and corrupts it, or destroys it

Core Mechanics

• Corruption & Rerolling: Like a standard Vaal Orb, it corrupts an item, preventing further modifications. However, it specifically rerolls the numerical values of a unique item's modifiers.
• Exceeding Limits: The primary benefit is that it can roll values beyond the item's natural minimum or maximum bounds. For example, a unique that normally grants 100 Max Life could potentially be corrupted to grant 120.
• PoE 2 Influence: This mechanic is adapted from how Vaal Orbs function in Path of Exile 2, where they apply a multiplier (roughly 0.78x to 1.22x) to all numerical values on a unique item.
• Risk of Destruction: Using a Volatile Vaal Orb carries a high risk of either corrupting and rerolling the item or completely destroying it.

Right click this item then left click a unique item to apply it. Corrupted items cannot be modified again. Shift click to unstack.
