PoE Defeat a Blight Boss while affected by a Tempest

To complete the "Defeat a Blight Boss while affected by a Tempest" 3.28 challenge in Path of Exile, use a Scarab of Radiant Storms or a map device crafting option to add Tempest to your map, then activate a Blight encounter. Ensure you are standing within the tempest (visual effect) when the Blight boss dies.

1. Get a Tempest in your Map

Since Tempests are no longer a standard league mechanic, you must force them onto your map using one of the following methods:

• Scarab of Radiant Storms: Area contains a Resplendent Tempest

Since Tempests are not part of the standard map pool, you must force them onto your map: Scarab of Radiant Storms: Use this scarab to add Tempests to your map. Map Device: Check for any available map device crafting options that add a "Tempest" modifier to the area. Guarantee the Boss: Use a Blight Scarab of Blooming or a Blight Scarab of Bounty to increase the likelihood of a Blight Boss (Unique monster) spawning during the encounter. High-tier maps (T14+) also have a better natural spawn rate for bosses

2. Guarantee a Blight Boss

Blight Bosses (Unique monsters) do not spawn in every encounter. To ensure one appears:

• Blight Scarab of Blooming: Blight Encounters in Area have up to 3 additional Unique Bosses.
• High Tier Maps: Run Tier 14+ maps, as they have a much higher chance to spawn multiple unique bosses.
• Atlas Tree: Allocate nodes like Blight Spawn, which increases the number of Blight Bosses that appear in your maps.

3. Completing the Kill

1. Locate the Blight Boss (indicated by a unique boss icon on the Blight lane in the minimap).
2. Reduce the boss's health to a very low level.
3. Stand in a Tempest circle: Look for the glowing circles on the ground created by the Tempest.
4. While the Tempest buff/debuff is active on your character (check your buff bar), deliver the killing blow to the boss.

Tip: If your build has very high damage, be careful not to kill the boss instantly before you can step into a Tempest. Using Culling Strike while affected by the Tempest is an easy way to guarantee the credit.

Pro-Tips

• Culling Strike: Using a skill with Culling Strike (which instantly kills enemies at 10% health or less) makes timing much easier while you focus on standing in the Tempest.
• Tower Strategy: Avoid over-upgrading towers near the end of the lane if they have enough damage to kill the boss before you can reach a Tempest circle.
• Map Selection: Choose a map with a narrow layout, like Carcass, to force lanes and bosses closer together, making it easier to find a Tempest circle nearby.
