For players planning their warrior path, MapleStory Classic World Mesos can become part of the wider progression picture, but choosing the right Page build starts with understanding the class itself. The Page is one of the more unusual second-job warrior options, sitting between straightforward damage and defensive utility. This guide focuses on levels 30–70 and second-job gameplay, using data from the second closed beta. Skill values, equipment sources, monster stats, and some formulas may still change after launch.
Page Skills From Level 30 to 70
The Page has eight listed second-job skills, although choosing a weapon type effectively reduces that list to five skills you will actively build. Sword users focus on Sword Mastery, Final Attack Sword, Sword Booster, Threaten, and Rush. Blunt weapon users follow the same structure with their corresponding mastery, final attack, and booster skills.
The biggest differences from the Fighter are Final Attack, Mastery bonuses, and Threaten. Sword Mastery provides additional weapon defense, while Blunt Weapon Mastery can sometimes ignore enemy weapon defense. This gives the two routes noticeably different identities even when their overall damage remains relatively close.

Final Attack Favors Single Targets
Final Attack is particularly interesting for Pages. At maximum level, it has a 50% chance to trigger a 270% damage follow-up against one target. Classic World also turns Final Attack into a toggle, meaning you activate it once rather than repeatedly using the skill.
Compared with the other warrior branches, this makes the Page more focused on single-target situations. The Fighter's Final Attack has lower single-target damage but can hit up to three monsters, while the Spearman's version has a slightly lower damage multiplier and also provides HP based on the damage dealt.
The Page therefore has a strong theoretical advantage against one target, especially when fighting high-HP monsters or bosses. However, Final Attack alone does not determine overall damage per second. Weapon attack, attack speed, accuracy, target defense, and animation time all matter.
Threaten Gives the Page a Different Role
Threaten is arguably the Page's defining second-job skill. At maximum level, it costs 25 MP, affects up to four monsters, reduces their movement speed by 35%, and lowers their weapon defense by 10 for 30 seconds.
The defense reduction can increase physical damage, but its actual value depends on the monster's starting defense. Removing 10 defense from a monster with 10 weapon defense can provide around 10% more damage, while reducing 30 to 20 provides roughly 8.3%.
However, the second beta data suggests many monsters have relatively low weapon defense. Among 113 non-boss monsters between levels 30 and 70, the median was only 10, with more than half having 10 or less. As a result, Threaten's slow effect may often be more useful than its damage increase while grinding.
Threaten also benefits other physical attackers in a party because the reduced monster defense applies to them as well. It does not provide the same benefit to magic damage.
Sword or Blunt Weapon?
There is no simple winner between the two weapon paths. Their raw damage difference is generally only a few percent, so practical factors can matter more.
Blunt weapons have a slightly higher average weapon multiplier. A two-handed blunt weapon averages around 2.6 compared with 2.5 for a two-handed sword under the stated attack distribution. One-handed blunt weapons also have a higher average multiplier than one-handed swords.
However, swords generally have lower weapon attack but faster attack speeds. In one example using level 40 weapons, the two-handed blunt Titan has 65 weapon attack and a slow attack speed, while the two-handed sword Zard has 60 weapon attack and a faster speed tier. Once attack intervals are considered, the damage difference becomes very small.
For this reason, weapon availability may be more important than theoretical damage. Titan and Golden Mole can be crafted according to the beta information, giving blunt users more control over obtaining certain level 40 and 50 weapons. Sword weapons such as Zard are primarily obtained through drops, while the source of Lion's Fang still requires live testing.
Why Sword Is Better for Defensive Players
Sword Mastery has one major advantage: additional weapon defense. At maximum level, it provides 90 weapon defense while using a one-handed or two-handed sword.
This also gives sword Pages useful equipment flexibility. You can use a two-handed sword for normal damage and switch to a one-handed sword and shield when additional protection is needed. The shield contributes its own weapon defense and block chance.
For example, the level 30 Red Cross shield has 110 weapon defense and an approximately 18% base block rate, while the level 70 Ancient Shield has 192 weapon defense and around a 27.7% base block rate. Successful blocks can completely stop qualifying normal physical attacks, although magic attacks and certain special attacks work differently.
This makes the sword route attractive for players who want damage flexibility without giving up a defensive option.
AP and DEX Basics
For a normal Page, the AP rule is straightforward: raise total DEX only enough to meet the requirement of your next weapon, then put the remaining points into STR.
Remember that total DEX includes both your base DEX and DEX supplied by equipment. If a level 70 weapon requires 70 DEX and your equipment provides 10, you only need 60 base DEX.
DEX should also be separated from accuracy. Precise Strikes can provide accuracy without directly increasing your DEX stat. If you are missing attacks, accuracy equipment or potions can sometimes solve the problem without permanently investing too many AP points into DEX.
Three First-Job Builds
Players can choose from three practical first-job approaches. The single-target build maxes Power Strike while keeping Slash Blast at one point. It is suited to high-HP monsters and bosses.
The multi-target build does the opposite, maximizing Slash Blast while leaving Power Strike at one point. This works better for dense monster maps but sacrifices single-target strength.
For most players, the standard damage build is the safest choice. It maxes both Power Strike and Slash Blast, allowing you to handle single enemies and groups without locking yourself into one situation.
Second-Job Skill Order
A Page receives 121 second-job skill points from levels 30 to 70, enough to max the five skills associated with the selected weapon line, with one point left over.
For a blunt weapon Page, a practical order is to start with Rush, build Blunt Weapon Mastery enough to unlock the other skills, take an early point in Booster and Threaten, then max Mastery and Final Attack before finishing Threaten, Booster, and Rush.
A defensive sword Page can prioritize Sword Mastery earlier because even its first level provides additional weapon defense. After unlocking the other skills, maximizing Sword Mastery quickly gives the defensive build its main advantage.
Who Should Play a Page?
The Page suits players who enjoy high-HP single targets, bosses, frontline combat, and defensive flexibility. Threaten also gives the class a useful party-support role by slowing monsters and reducing their weapon defense.
However, Pages are less attractive for players who only care about clearing dense maps as quickly as possible. Final Attack affects one target, while the Fighter's version can hit multiple enemies.
Overall, the standard first-job damage build combined with the blunt weapon route is a strong general recommendation from the available beta data. Craftable level 40 and 50 blunt weapons make progression more predictable, while the damage difference compared with swords is relatively small. Players who value shields and defensive flexibility should instead consider the sword route.
These recommendations are based on second closed beta information, so weapon sources, skill values, attack timing, and monster behavior should be retested after launch. For players preparing their progression and economy, understanding how to manage MSCW Mesos alongside weapon upgrades can help keep the character moving forward efficiently.
