What happens to your extra monopoly go stickers when an album ends

When a Monopoly GO album season officially concludes, a complete reset occurs. If you are holding onto extra stickers or have accumulated hundreds of stars in your vault, you need to understand exactly what happens to those items when the countdown timer hits zero.

Here's a short explanation of how the game handles your leftovers and how you can maximize your rewards before the reset.

Stickers Disappear, Stars Turn into Dice

Once the new album season starts, you cannot trade, gift, or use any Monopoly GO stickers from the previous season. The physical duplicate cards disappear entirely from your collection.

However, the total star value of those duplicate stickers is not completely wasted. Monopoly GO automatically converts your remaining stars into free dice rolls at the exact moment of the season reset.

The standard conversion scale rewards you based on specific star tiers, up to a strict maximum cap.

End-of-Season Star Conversion Table

Stars Remaining in VaultDice Rolls Rewarded
Fewer than 1 star0 dice
1 to 49 stars50 dice
50 to 99 stars100 dice
100 to 199 stars200 dice
200 to 299 stars300 dice
300 to 399 stars400 dice
400 to 499 stars500 dice
500 to 599 stars600 dice
600 to 699 stars700 dice
700+ stars750 dice (Maximum Limit)

Note: The maximum number of dice you can receive from this automatic conversion is 750. Any stars you have beyond the 700-star threshold (such as having 1,500 or 2,000 stars) will simply disappear without granting extra rewards.

What if You Finish the Album Early?

There is a major difference between the overall album season ending and you completing your personal album before the time runs out.

  • Finishing Early (Season Still Active): If you find your very last missing sticker while the season is ongoing, your duplicate stickers disappear, but your star count remains untouched in your vault. The game then unlocks a harder "Prestige Album" featuring additional sets. You can immediately use your saved stars to open vaults and get a head start on these new Prestige sticker packs.
  • Season Reset: When the entire season clock hits zero, everything resets to absolute zero for everyone. Your stars turn into dice according to the tier table above, and you start the next brand-new album completely from scratch.

Smart Strategies Before the Season Ends

To avoid letting high-value duplicates and extra stars go to waste, experienced players use specific strategies in the final days of an album:

  • Gift Your Best Cards: Since duplicate cards vanish when the season resets, send your extra 4-star and 5-star stickers to friends, family, or online community members who need them to finish their sets.
  • Liquidate Over-Cap Stars: If you have significantly more stars than the 700 maximum tier (for example, 1,400 stars), you should manually open a smaller vault before the final hours. Opening a 250-star or 500-star vault gives you sticker packs and immediate dice. As long as you leave at least 700 stars behind, those remaining stars will still trigger the maximum 750 dice payout when the timer expires.
  • Coordinate Star Trades: Trade off excess 4-star and 5-star cards for lower star counts if you are trying to exactly hit the 700-star milestone for the maximum automatic dice reward.
