Pre-orders for both the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition open on February 3, 2026, at 12 pm EST / 9 am PST. You can pre-order on TheShow.com, on console stores, and at participating retailers. The Standard Edition unlocks on March 17, while the Digital Deluxe Edition includes Early Access and additional in-game content.
This year's cover athlete is Aaron Judge, returning to the series after first appearing on the cover in 2018. Since then, his career has continued to grow. He is now a three-time American League MVP, a seven-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger winner, and the holder of the AL single-season home run record with 62 home runs. He is also the captain of Team USA for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
The theme of MLB The Show 26 is “The Journey.” It reflects the path from high school baseball to college, the minor leagues, and finally the majors. This mirrors Judge's own career and focuses on long-term growth, steady improvement, and building a Hall of Fame legacy.
The official gameplay trailer will be released next week, on February 3. It will show new features, updates to familiar modes, and some changes coming in the 2026 edition. After that, the developers plan to share weekly feature reveals and deeper looks at specific game systems.
The World Baseball Classic will return in Diamond Dynasty. Since Aaron Judge appears on the cover in his Team USA uniform, the tournament will play a larger role in this year's content. More details will be shared soon about how it will be integrated into the mode.
The Homage x MLB The Show clothing partnership is also returning. The first drop of the year is a cover athlete T-shirt featuring Aaron Judge. Adult and youth sizes are available, continuing the focus on simple, classic designs tied to baseball history and culture.
Players can sign up for the MLB The Show Scouting Report to receive monthly in-game packs from April through December. These packs are delivered directly to your account and include various rewards.
