Hero Siege Season 9 Patch Notes: Mechanics, Changes, New Items

Features

Incarnation Tree (Passive Skill Tree)

  • Incarnation Tree is a skill tree you can put points obtained from hero levels, the old tree is gone and this new massive 1100+ node tree will take its place, the tree gives massive power and solves both early and endgame progression quite well in theory.

Ether (Atlas Tree)

  • Ether is a skill tree where you can allocate points into mechanic specific nodes and boost + add all sorts of stuff in the mechanics to make them more juiced.

The Architect of Ruin

  • A new uber boss added: The Architect of Ruin. Once a celestial being tasked with shaping reality, the Architect was driven mad by the infinite permutations of existence. Now it resides in a shifting construct outside of time, reassembling the laws of reality as weapons. Victory is ultimate: a badge of skill, not luck. Collect fragments of existence from specific legion monsters in each act to combine a signet of existence.

Performance

  • We have now optimized texture pages for peak performance, lowered the amount of texture swaps easing the overheard on CPU.

DLC's

  • We will make Samurai, Paladin, Amazon, Demon Slayer, Demonspawn and Shaman classes free, and the existing DLC's bought before now give a new skin for these classes and possibly a hud or something.
  • New class: Prophet
  • Ingame chat emotes are now free to use for everyone, stupid to have them behind a pay wall. We left a few locked behind the subscription to give the sub holders something extra.

Character Slots

  • Added 24 save slots by default, up from old 21 so you can create 1 of each class.

Tarethiel Market

  • Putting an item for sale will set its default price based on recent sold prices for that exact item, this price can be changed manually to whatever you want. This is essentially a built in "Price Checker".

Gamepad functionality

  • Improved a ton of gamepad functionality, added button binds for things that didnt exists before such as a button to highlight affixes in the lootfilter etc.

Localizations

  • Filled all missing localizations for all languages
  • Added Spanish and Polish localizations

Mechanics

Vaults

  • Vaults now roll an Act and you need to kill monsters, legions and bosses in that act.
  • Vault grid is now just one grid of the size 5x3
Hero Siege Vault grid

Crafting

  • Crafting grid now shows the top left first grid slot items tooltip on the left of the grid at all times, if there is an item.
  • Removed Angelics and Unholies from Regular Tarot card crafting, now only ranges from D to SS tier and can drop heroics at best
  • Added Angel´s Wisdom that can de-corrupt angelic and unholy items, this item is created with a crafting recipe using prophet´s wisdom, enchanted sigils and an angelic key
  • Halved the cost of all tarot crafts but lowered the drop rate of tarot cards.
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting a random pristine gem
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting a Gypsys Prophecy
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting a Blacksmith´s Mallet
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting a Satanic Dice
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting 6x Crystal Keys
  • Added Tarot Card recipe for crafting an Angelic Key
  • Satanic Crystals no longer rolls socket on common items and the chance is 50/50 for stat or brick.

Codex

  • Codexes now only drop in regular satanic zones and tier 2+ key dungeons.
  • Nerfed Packs spawning as Chaos Pillars modifier from 40% chance to 10% chance

Chest Augments

  • Drunkard Mayhem: Nerfed from 1 + (0.5 per level) to 0.5 + (0.25 per level)
  • Longevity: Nerfed duration from 2.5% per level to 1.5% duration per level. Nerfed 4% damage per level to 2.25% damage per level.
  • Mystic Insight: Nerfed Spell Critical Damage from 10% per level to 4% per level.
  • Magistriker: Nerfed from 3% per level to 2.5% per level.
  • Elementalist: Nerfed from 0.25% per level to 0.10% per level
  • Nordic Winter: Buffed proc chance from 20% to 30% and damage scaling per level from 12.5% to 17.5%. Now also works with cold break.
  • Sprouting Ivy: Changed from attack proc to spellcast proc. Nerfed from 250% Poisoned Damage per level to 35% (calculations are now working correctly).
  • Berserker's Rage: - All resist now scales with the levels (Level 7 is still -30%)
  • Echoes of the void: Buffed damage scaling from 2% to 10% per level
  • Infinity: Buffed proc chance per level from 1.5% to 2%
  • Doubleswing: Buffed proc chance from 12% to 15% but nerfed damage from 80% to 50% per level.
  • Mixture of doom: Buffed poison break from 7% per level to 15% per level.
  • Awareness: Buffed proc chance from 8% to 25%
  • Conjured Hex: Buffed arcane break from 7% to 15% per level.
  • Spellslinger nerfed from 10 FCR per 5 magic damage to 5 per 2
  • Fleet feet: Buffed duration from 3 to 5 seconds and nerfed dodge chance from 12.5 to 10 per level

Key Dungeons

  • Changed the key dungeon buffs to tier 1: 5% increased chance to drop runes, tier 2: 10% increased chance to drop crafting materials, tier 3: 10% increased chance to drop heroic items, tier 4: 10% increased chance to drop angelic items
  • Incarnation experience removed from the game.

Satanic Zone

  • Nerfed Angelic drop rate buff from 25% + 7.5% per difficulty level to 4% + 4% per difficulty level

Chaos Pillars

  • Chaos Pillars monster rarity is now ancient + champion, not legion and ancient by default

Relics

  • Light Cola: Nerfed total Movement Speed from +500% (level 10) to 150% (level 10). Buffed the duration from 5s to 10s.
  • Stickman Steve: Nerfed Intelligence Scaling from 8.75 per point to 6.75
  • Rock Belt: All Attributes per level nerfed from 3 to 2.

Shrines

  • Chaos Shrine can now only drop runes up to Ist

Mining

  • You now gain experience from mining nodes

General

General

  • DPS meter is now synced properly from each client instead of locally, which gives real numbers.
  • Quest log is locked by default
  • Added Relic section in the journal that shows all the relics in the game
  • Player names now show in minimap

Hero Levels

  • Adjusted Hero Level experience ceiling and pace of obtaining levels so that it is a bit slower to gain them early on but it doesnt ramp up as hard for the tail end, thus giving the possibility of obtaining more points for the passive tree.
  • Unlockable charm slots from hero levels removed due to the power from the new tree, these might come back in a future season. The one unlockable slot will still be available from the quest.

Stats

  • Movement Speed cap reduced from 800% to 600% + slightly increased the curve for diminish

Merchant

  • Merchant now has an option to identify all items in your inventory

Zones / Monsters

Balance

  • Each joined player now increases monster health by 65% on every difficulty, down from hard locked 125%
  • You now gain 2.5% increased per level difference when killing mobs that are higher level than you, up to a max of level 100. (kind of a catch up experience system)

Zones

  • Waypoint now activates automatically when you go near it
  • Shadow Realm now shows up in minimap when 1000px away from player
  • Eternal Battlefield portal now shows up in minimap when 1000px away from player
  • Unstable Rift now shows up in minimap when 1000px away from player
  • Unholy Siege now shows up in minimap when 1000px away from player
  • Arch Demon´s Plateau portal now shows up in minimap
  • Reduced the chances for champion and ancient packs to spawn slightly accross the board (doesnt effect the pre-decided packs)
  • Added prospector and crafting cube to all towns

Monsters

  • Corpses now expire after 30 seconds
  • Event spawned monsters no longer leave corpses
  • Gurag now only spawns 2 of the orbital things in last phase instead of 4 on normal difficulty
  • Gurag only spawns 1 less bishop on normal
  • Removed stun attack from colossal pumpkin
  • Made normal difficulty anubis easier by deleting 1 iteration of the wall
  • Fixed desync in anubis lightning wall

Dungeons

  • Gladsheim Halls (Dungeon in the Forest of the Slain map [8-1]) is now 4 times bigger

Bosses

  • Improved network syncing on some bosses like Amun Ra

Items

Items General

  • Buffed Infernal Codex duration to 25-30 minutes from 20-30 minutes
  • Buffed Codex duration to 25-30 minutes from 15-25 minutes
  • Changed Destiny Shard chance for corruption from 20% to 12% and buffed upgrade roll from 50% to 62%
  • Removed All Skills from star levels scaling due to balancing issues
  • Items with built in auras now show the auras description and values when showing more information about the item
  • Item set singular skills stats now show info when pressing ALT, such as "Smart Fuse"
  • Made damage return and additive damage rarer on common charms
  • Weapons now have a min to max range in damage, fluctuating damage output to balance the gap between mages and phys classes (Weapons with more range will gain increased maximum compared to before).
  • Deleted common item socket affix completely, now only base sockets can roll. Replaced with 7-20 ailment damage affix at S tier.
  • You can now share your soulforged ring with your other characters via stash shared tabs

Charms

  • Common charms (small, large, grand) can all god roll +1 affix 2 times, so a small charm can have 3 affixes, large 4 and grand 5. The chance is quite small.

Drop Rates

  • Drop chances for Amun Ra, Gabriel and Luna have been changed to (15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75% for hell sub difficulties and 100% on Inferno).
  • Lowered the drop rate for Reflection of Tarethiel by 25%
  • Nerfed the drop rate of Bifröst Keys
  • Nerfed the drop rate of Chaos Keys
  • Buffed drop rate of Blacksmith´s Mallet
  • Buffed drop rate of Prophet´s Wisdom
  • Buffed drop rate of Gypsy´s Prophecy
  • Changed how runes are rolled, now it picks one random rune from the max length of the difficulty pool and rolls for it once instead of rolling for all of the possibilities with every drop roll.
  • Added the SSF global drop buff to Blacksmith´s Mallet and Prophet´s Wisdom
  • Buffed the natural drop rates of Scroll of Ra and Infernal Scroll of Ra

Socketables

  • Old Rune changed to give 15% enhanced defense instead of 25% enhanced damage
  • Volcon Jewel buffed to give 15 flat physical damage + 5% attack rating
  • Completely re-worked random jewel stat pools for potential to find really crazy ones, removing stats that are not good.
  • Ber rune now increases deadly blow effectiveness by 8% and gives 1% chance for deadly blow
  • Drax rune now increases maximum weapon damage by 3%
  • Nerfed Orb of Heroism from 5% to 3%
  • Nerfed Orb of Angel from 5% to 3%
  • Nerfed Orb of Gladiator from 30% to 3%

Tier Changes

  • All Uber Boss drops are now Heroic-tier
  • Overloaded Dice changed from SS Satanic to Unholy
  • Elixir of Unwordly Cognition from SS Satanic to Unholy
  • Soul Collector from Heroic to Unholy
  • Necrobutcher's Curse from Unholy to SS Satanic
  • Hello, its me Steve! from S Satanic Set to SS Satanic Set
  • Tarek's Tradeoff from B to S
  • Solar Magister's Sash from B to S

Glyphs

  • Glyphs are removed from the game completely

Runewords

  • Added Codex of Experience -> Grants increased Experience for the duration of the Codex
  • Added Ent´s Blessing -> Cheap Runeword Chest for your mercenary, it should help a lot in the early stages of the game with its Mana and Life regeneration / Resistances aura.
  • Trapped Vessel -> Can now also be crafted using Maces.
  • Breath of The Damned -> Buffed stats
  • Grief -> Buffed stats + Removed Flat Phys and added a roll of Flat Poison Skill Damage 22-55
  • Hydrangea -> Re-worked
  • Rainbow -> Re-worked
  • Feral -> Changed Extra Damage to Bleeding Monsters to Extra >PHYSICAL< Damage to Bleeding Monsters
  • Virulence -> Can now also be crafted using Throwing weapons.
  • Lone Mystic -> Added a +20% Sentry Attack Speed. Changed the recipe (requires one Um rune now).
  • Disaster -> Re-worked

  • St. Nimo's Lightbringer [SS Tier] -> All Skills buffed to 7-10, Vitality roll increased to 40-65 and now has 4 rainbow sockets.
  • Majorie's Belt [SS Tier] -> Reworked into a more defensive item with some offensive stats as well

  • Arcane Robes of Authority [S Tier] -> Buffed Faster Cast Rate to 20-30, Added an All Resistances roll from 20-25, Sockets now roll from 1-3.
  • Wendigo's Skull [S Tier] -> Added a 2-3 to Shaman All Skills roll.

  • Mark of the Black Knight [S Tier] -> Buffed the Crushing Blow to 15-25%, Deadly Blow to 12-20% and added a 20-30% Ignore Target Defense roll
  • Battle Caster's Gauntlets [S Tier] -> Changed Faster Cast Rate roll to Skill Haste 15-25%.
  • Doctor's Visage [S Tier] -> Swapped Energy roll to Skill Haste 15-25, swapped Arcane and Poison Resists for All Resists 10-15%.
  • Molten Ring [S Tier] -> Added a 1-2 Fire Skills roll
  • Spine Trophy [S Tier] -> Buffed Increased Attack Rating to 15-25%
  • Beetle of Life [S Tier] -> Vitality roll increased to 20-30, Life After each kill increased to 10-20 and added a roll of Damage Taken Recouped as Life 8-12%
  • Hardened Steed Defender [S Tier] -> Added a roll of Damage Return 100-250%
  • Viking's Sacred Axe [S Tier] -> Changed skill to Brute Force 6-8, Enhanced Damage increased to 320-380
  • Ice Queen's Cestus [S Tier] -> Added a 1-2 to Cold Skills roll.
  • Solar Magister's Sash [S Tier] -> Changed the proc from Strike to Cast, added 1-2 Fire skills roll, removed the Armor roll.

  • The Light of Dawn [SS Tier] -> -Total attack speed from -75 to -50, Vitality to Attack Damage conversion buffed to 25-40%, sockets roll from 5-6
  • Diablo [SS Tier] -> Added a 3-6 fire skills roll and -20 Enemy fire resist
  • Wind Walker's Step [SS Tier] -> Added Double Jump.
  • Wind Token [SS Tier] -> Decreased the resist penalty from -75 to -35
  • Solar Prophet's Tablet [SS] -> Proc level increased to 60-80, added a sockets roll from 2-4
  • Solar Charm [SS Tier] -> Decreased the resist penalty from -75 to -35
  • Eye of Skadi [SS Tier] -> Decreased the resist penalty from -75 to -35
  • Serpent's Tooth [SS Tier] -> Changed from a poison attacker into a poison caster instead.
  • Sassy's Dislocated Foot [SS Tier] -> Now it rolls from 10-20 Poison Nova
  • Candy Shredder [SS Tier] -> Buffed base damage to 78-86, buffed Enhanced Damage to 740-820%, buffed base attack speed to 1.75, also now rolls between 4-5 sockets
  • St. Draxi's Longsaw [SS Tier] -> Now it has a static 6 sockets roll
  • Moonshard [SS Tier] -> Decreased the resist penalty from -75 to -35
  • Apple of Evolution [SS Tier] -> Decreased the resist penalty from -75 to -35
  • Brimskull Trident [SS Tier] -> Increased proc chance to 35%, Increased Attack Speed 35-60, Bone Spear now rolls between 150-175, Flat 5 sockets
  • Abomination's Gut Ripper [SS Tier] -> Increased Enhanced Damage to 780-920, Attack Speed Increased now rolls between 35-100 and it now has 4 flat rainbow sockets
  • Dreadnought [SS Tier] -> Its now -35% total attack speed instead of -75%, buffed base damage and REWORKED both Cold and Fire variants
