Forza Horizon 6 Sotoyama Ski Resort Location & Photo Challenge

The Sotoyama Ski Resort is one of the key landmarks in the snowy Sotoyama region of Forza Horizon 6. Located near the northern edge of the map, this ski resort is required for the #SkiHoliday Photo Challenge during the Italian Exotics series.

Finding the correct photo spot can be slightly confusing because the challenge does not ask you to photograph the ski slopes themselves. Instead, you need to position your Lamborghini in front of the ski lodge buildings. This guide explains exactly where to find Sotoyama Ski Resort and how to complete the challenge quickly.

Where Is Sotoyama Ski Resort in Forza Horizon 6?

Sotoyama Ski Resort is located in the northwestern part of the Sotoyama region, near the very top of the Forza Horizon 6 map.

The easiest landmarks to use when navigating to the resort are:

· Region: Sotoyama

· Map position: Northern/top edge of the map

· Location: Northwestern section of the snowy mountain range

· Visual landmark: A brown dirt patch just south of the central ski slopes

· Nearby event: Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit

· Nearby speed zone: Snowbank Speed Trap

The resort is positioned immediately left of the Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit and close to the Snowbank Speed Trap. If you’re approaching from the central mountain area, these two locations make useful navigation references.

How to Find the Correct Photo Spot

Simply reaching the ski resort isn’t enough to complete the #SkiHoliday Photo Challenge. The important part is finding the correct position for the photograph.

When you arrive at Sotoyama Ski Resort, look for the parking area in front of two large wooden ski lodge buildings. The brown dirt area directly south of the main ski slopes is another useful visual clue.

Don’t worry if you don’t see an obvious photo marker. Drive into the parking lot and position your Lamborghini directly in front of the lodge buildings. You can even drive onto the front steps if necessary.

The key is to make sure both your Lamborghini and the wooden ski lodges are clearly visible in the Photo Mode shot.

How to Complete the #SkiHoliday Photo Challenge

Follow these steps to finish the challenge:

1. Choose a Lamborghini

The challenge requires you to photograph a Lamborghini. Any eligible Lamborghini should work.

If you don’t currently own one, you can purchase a Lamborghini through the Autoshow. Alternatively, you can unlock a free Lamborghini through the fifth Barn Find in the Ito Region.

Make sure the Lamborghini is your active car before heading to Sotoyama.

2. Travel to the Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit

The Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit is one of the easiest navigation points for reaching the resort.

You can drive there normally or use fast travel if you’ve already unlocked the event. Once you arrive, look around the area immediately around the circuit for the ski resort and its wooden lodge buildings.

This approach is generally easier than trying to navigate through the snowy mountain roads from scratch.

3. Park in Front of the Ski Lodges

Once you’ve reached the resort, drive into the parking area.

Position your Lamborghini directly in front of the two large wooden ski lodge buildings. The challenge isn’t asking you to photograph the ski slopes, so don’t waste time trying to find the perfect angle overlooking the mountain.

A good setup is to have your Lamborghini in the foreground and the two wooden buildings clearly visible behind it.

4. Open Photo Mode

With the Lamborghini correctly positioned, open Photo Mode.

Adjust the camera until your car and the ski lodge are both inside the frame. You don’t need an elaborate composition—the important thing is that the required location, vehicle, and scenery are recognized by the challenge.

Take the photograph once everything is positioned correctly.

What Rewards Do You Get?

Successfully completing the #SkiHoliday Photo Challenge provides several rewards, including:

· Season Points

· 100 Discover Japan points

· “Take Off” Legendary Emote

The challenge is therefore worth completing if you’re working through the current seasonal objectives and trying to collect additional Festival Playlist rewards.

Tips for Completing the Sotoyama Ski Resort Challenge

A few simple tips can make the challenge faster:

Use the Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit as your navigation target. It is much easier to locate than searching the entire snowy mountain range manually.

Don’t photograph the ski slopes. The required photo location is the parking area in front of the wooden lodge buildings.

Keep the Lamborghini clearly visible. If the challenge doesn’t register, reposition the vehicle and make sure both the car and resort buildings are prominent in the frame.

Fast travel whenever possible. If the circuit is already unlocked, fast travel can save considerable time.

Check the challenge requirements before taking the photo. Make sure you’re driving a Lamborghini and are positioned at the resort before entering Photo Mode.

Players who are also looking for additional ways to accelerate their progression may consider using their FH6 Credits for vehicles, upgrades, and other progression-related expenses rather than spending unnecessary time farming credits manually.

Can You Complete #SkiHoliday With Any Lamborghini?

Yes. The important requirement is using a Lamborghini, rather than a particular model specified in the challenge.

If you already have a Lamborghini in your garage, there is no need to purchase another vehicle. Simply select an eligible Lamborghini, travel to Sotoyama Ski Resort, and take the required photograph.

If you don’t have one, the Autoshow provides a straightforward way to obtain one. The free Lamborghini associated with the fifth Barn Find in the Ito Region can also be an alternative.

Sotoyama Ski Resort Photo Challenge Quick Checklist

Before taking the photo, use this checklist:

1. Select a Lamborghini.

2. Travel to Sotoyama in the northern part of the map.

3. Head toward the Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit.

4. Find the brown dirt area near the ski resort.

5. Enter the parking lot in front of the two wooden ski lodges.

6. Park your Lamborghini facing the buildings.

7. Open Photo Mode.

8. Make sure the Lamborghini and ski lodge are visible.

9. Take the photo.

10. Collect the Season Points, Discover Japan points, and “Take Off” Legendary Emote.

Make the #SkiHoliday Challenge Easy

The Sotoyama Ski Resort challenge is straightforward once you know the exact photo location. The biggest mistake is assuming that the ski slopes are the target. Instead, focus on the parking lot and two wooden lodge buildings immediately south of the main slopes.

Using the Snow Forest Cross-Country Circuit as your navigation point makes the resort much easier to locate. Bring any Lamborghini, position it in front of the lodges, and use Photo Mode to complete the #SkiHoliday objective and collect its rewards.

If you’re also looking to speed up vehicle progression and access more cars and upgrades, efficient management of Forza Horizon 6 Credits can make the rest of the seasonal activities much easier.
