Continue ShoppingIn Path of Exile 2, Vaal Orbs are powerful corruption tools that bring unpredictability to item crafting, often with both high risk and high reward. While most players are familiar with using Vaal Orbs on gear and skill gems, these orbs can also be used on flasks and charms—two crucial item types for character utility and power.
Unlike gear or gems, the corruption outcomes for flasks and charms are more streamlined. Currently in PoE 2, using a Vaal Orb on either of these item types has a 100% chance to modify the quality of the item.
This means that whenever you use a Vaal Orb on a flask or charm, the item's quality will either increase or decrease by a flat 10%. If this modification causes the item's total quality to exceed its natural cap (normally 20%), it can go as high as 23%—but you must be lucky for the roll to increase rather than decrease.
For example:
Note: The quality increase or decrease from Vaal Orbs is not rerollable or reversible—once corrupted, the item is locked and cannot be further modified by traditional means such as crafting benches or quality-boosting orbs.
If you're looking to take advantage of Vaal Orb crafting or are simply trying to min-max your character, make sure to stock up on materials first. And if you're short on orbs or resources, you can always buy Path of Exile 2 currency cheap at U4N to accelerate your progress and experimentation.
That depends on your goal:
Many players choose to corrupt duplicate items or inexpensive alternatives first, hoping for the perfect outcome before applying it to high-value builds.

---|---|---|---|
Flask | ±10% to Quality | 100% | 23% |
