PoE Imbued Gems: How to Imbue Gems 3.28

In the Path of Exile 3.28 Mirage league, Imbued Gems are level 20 active skill gems that have been permanently modified to include an additional, random Support Gem effect. This essentially creates a "7-link" skill or frees up a socket by providing a built-in support.

How to Imbue Gems

You create these gems by using specific Djinn Coins on a Level 20 Skill Gem.

Acquisition: Coins are dropped by monsters affected by "wishes" within the Mirage league mechanic.

Each of these Coins can be used on a max leveled skill gem, corrupting it and augmenting it with a random support that matches the colour of the coin used. Only one skill that is imbued this way can be socketed into a given equipment item at a time. Meaning you cannot have two imbued Skill Gems in your Body Armour.

Example

In this example, Right click Coin of Skill then left click a level 20 skill gem to corrupt it. The added support effect will always be valid for the skill gem. Corrupted items cannot be modified again.

In this example, Imbuing level 20 Split Arrow gem with "Supported by level 1 Vicious Projectiles".

Key Mechanics and Restrictions

• Corruption: Imbuing a gem corrupts it, meaning you cannot further modify it with Vaal Orbs or other currency.
• Validity: A coin will only imbue a support that is actually compatible with the active skill (e.g., you won't get a spell-only support on an attack skill).
• Limit: You may only have one imbued active Skill Gem per link.
• Vaal Gems: Currently, Vaal Skill Gems cannot be imbued.
• Mana Cost: Imbued gems are expected to follow the mana multipliers of the added support, potentially making skill costs significantly higher.

Strategic Use Cases

Imbued gems are highly valuable for builds that need extra utility or damage without sacrificing sockets:

• Free Utility: Imbuing movement skills like Frostblink with Arcane Surge.
• Free Defensive Buffs: Adding Fortify to melee attack skills for permanent damage reduction.
• Build Enablement: Using Blasphemy Support on a curse gem to save a socket or gain a free aura.
