How to Use It

  • Trigger: While hanging onto a ledge or railing, press backward (S) and Jump (Space) simultaneously.
  • Effect: Instead of climbing up, your character pushes away from the surface and leaps backward or sideways.
  • Upgrade: Investing up to 5 points increases the horizontal distance of this push (roughly 3–4 meters at max level) but provides no vertical height.

Utility Tips

  • Repositioning: It is primarily used to jump between nearby rooftops or ledges while hanging, rather than for vertical climbing.
  • Combat: Some players use it to quickly disengage from a ledge and ready their weapon, though many in the community currently consider it a niche skill compared to simple ledge drops.
  • Fall Damage: It does not naturally negate fall damage; you must still time a dodge roll upon landing to avoid damage from medium heights.

Is it worth it?

Yes, ARC Raiders is generally considered worth it, receiving high praise as a fresh and highly-rated take on the extraction shooter genre. The "Off the Wall" update refers to a specific movement perk, which is considered a niche, but useful skill for advanced players.

  • High Critical Acclaim: The game has been a massive success since its launch in late 2025, earning high Metacritic scores (averaging around 87) and high player counts. It even won "Best Multiplayer Game" at The Game Awards 2025.
  • Approachable Extraction: It balances high-stakes tension with accessibility, offering free loadouts that allow players to jump back in quickly after dying, which makes the "easy-come, easy-go" loot system less punishing than other games in the genre.
  • Engaging Gameplay: Reviewers praise its excellent sound design, immersive atmosphere, intense PvPvE (player versus player versus environment) encounters, and satisfying progression system. Every run tends to offer unique, emergent gameplay stories.
  • Solo Friendly: Despite being a multiplayer-focused game, many solo players find it an excellent experience, with a surprisingly helpful community and options for stealthy PvE runs.
